Description

Hide distractions on websites such as YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Reddit, LinkedIn, Gmail and take back control of your attention! While we acknowledge the distracting and engrossing nature of these sites, completely blocking them is not always feasible due to the valuable content they offer. This Safari extension allows you to selectively hide attention-grabbing components on each site. For instance, on YouTube, you have the option to conceal recommended videos, shorts, comments, and more. Similarly, on Facebook and Instagram, you can hide the feed, reels, stories, and other elements. The same goes for each supported site. Furthermore, SocialFocus offers an array of supplementary features, including Startup Settings, Import / Export and more. Users who want to support the development of the project can additionally subscribe to the PRO version. The PRO version will give access to some additional features that are not available in the standard version, such as hotkey configuration, settings synchronization and some others. The best you’re gonna find for iOS
I have a big screen time issue with instagram especially and going through university with it isn’t super easy. I’ve tried many tools such as using the website exclusively or sheer will power for avoiding reels but it’s never worked. This overall is really good for what it does. As far as pros I mean it works for the most part (it’s only through the browser not an actual app). As for slight cons if u force scroll really hard u can scroll briefly the home page but its like a nano second. Sometimes it also shows old dms idk why. This will solve most of the problem, the other is ur own. I do wish

Many sites are out of date
Updated in response to dev reply: Many of the issues I saw are fixed. This is definitely a cat-and-mouse type solution, so it’s reasonable for function drift to occur, but if it stays broken for a few months it is hard to recommend purchase at that time. Bump from 2 to 4 stars, it’d be 5 if update cycles were more frequent and fixes were listed. I found this app incredibly useful and absolutely worth the money, but it is currently lagging behind the obnoxious features of many sites. Glitchy Interferences
This is exactly what I’ve wanted for Facebook, especially on iOS. But there are unintended issues that have arisen that make it almost not worthwhile to keep this activated. On iOS I often use the Facebook “copy link” menu option, because copying the URL seems to never go back to the specific FB page, only the home page, which is so dumb on Facebook’s part. But unfortunately SocialFocus is blocking access to the menu. A transparent gray sheet opens up, where Facebook is trying to present the menu but SF has canceled it out. I ‘bought’ this app in 2024 and there was no subscription back then. All the features were included with the paid app. Now the same features are locked behind a subscription. 100% worth it to y ry out
I been meaning to download this app a while ago and I wish I did sooner. If you still want to use social media but don’t want to see a million ads and things you don’t want to see this is the app for you. I use it mainly for posting content for my detail business and it helps me stay focused and just post my stuff and only see people follow content. I’m using this for reducing my Instagram usage and it works well for the most part. The only issue is when someone dm’s me a reel, ideally I should be able to open and watch this reel only but it also lets me scroll for suggested reels. It would be great if scrolling could be blocked in this way too.

It does SOMETHING but not what I specifically needed it to do, even though it is a option according to itself (when I toggle it, nothing happens). Feature Rich but Questionable Privacy
Does a good job curtailing distracting sites, but it collects ‘Usage Data’ and settings sync is only available as a costly subscription on an already paid app. More transparency on what data being collected would be nice, but would much rather if none was collected at all especially since sync is an additional fee.

Only useful when no bugs
Disappointed. It worked great till last year. Now, instagram option “Hide suggested posts/sponsored posts” stopped working from past 6 months. I have reported in January and sent follow up email to developer in March and no fix yet. I am always on latest version of ios and this one bug is very annoying and totally kills the purpose of hiding distractions.

I got this specifically for Instagram so I wouldn’t see algorithmic content from people I don’t follow. It blocks some things successfully, but I’m still seeing sponsored content and suggested posts — which is exactly what I wanted to block when I got the app. Please fix this in a future update. And yes, I know this is specifically for safari and not the Instagram app.

Absolute game changer!
SocialFocus has been a blessing in decluttering my social media experience, and has allowed me to stay focused and more intentional with my time, especially with Facebook and Instagram. However, I really want to have the option to hide the Meta AI button on both Facebook and Instagram. Meta is putting it’s AI front and center in all its apps has become super annoying and having the ability to remove or disable it, just like other visual noise this app eliminates, would be greatly appreciated. Still, SocialFocus easily earns 5 stars from me.

Amazing! Just one suggestion
Wow, this app is amazing! I love this app on how it can block parts of apps and I can finally use apps I need but way less distracting. Just one suggestion though, could you add more settings to the TikTok portion? Like for example blocking the For You Feed or blocking the search option. Could you add the option in the menu to grayscale the sites? It would make them even less distracting/tempting without completely eliminating them in case you need to use them

I was looking for something like this app. This app helped me tremendously with my lack of focus. There are so many distractions now days, and I use internet all the time, but with this app I maintain my focus and I do not get distracted. The price is great! I love this app!
