Having subscribed to competitors like Shonen Jump, Viz, Manga Plus and even western comic alternatives like DC Universe Infinite, this points model is nuts. Make me pay a flat monthly fee and I’ll be all over this.

Feels like a punishment
They use points to unlock chapters which is so incredibly greedy when you know that their biggest competitor is Manga plus and Viz and they offer a very generous subscription service. In my case, I just caught up to volume 22 of Grand Blue and wanted to read more, but the 20 chapters past that are all locked being individual transactions that will cost me the equivalent of 1 year of Viz. when taking into account that I'd rather buy the physical volumes that aren't available yet, I feel scammed. Really dislike their model, I guess it's great for the authors but we don't actually know if they'll

Where are the popular titles
I try to search up any popular manga like One Piece, Naruto, or Bleach like an average person with no results. They had almost a year to add at least One Piece into the selection. I’m deleting this app as soon as I finish the manga I am on (unless they add One Piece).

Ad filled and outdated design
The entire thing is designed like some early 2000 groupon site where you’re encouraged to click on “ad offers” (tends to then lead to signing up or purchase something) to earn points that you can use for buying chapters.
Chapter prices are also inconsistent, coupled with how points are purchased/earned, it leaves a lot of random points left over.
Kodansha has the rights to the series here, which gives them monopoly over how to monetize them, and it’s done in a very predatory fashion.
If you want to read their series, you have no choice but to use this.

This app is terrible, it’s laid out like a predatory mobile gacha game. Offer a subscription model like viz/SJ does you cowards. Kodansha owns the publishing rights to so many great series it’s so unbelievably disappointing that they’d release this garbage, I don’t even want to buy physical manga published by kodansha anymore because I don’t want to support a company that thinks this is an acceptable way to offer content. Odd Service Choices
I was really excited to see my favourite Kodansha manga available in an official, mobile manner, but when I installed it, I couldn’t access newer chapters without having to purchase points.
Purchase points? Why not do it like the Shonen Jump app where you pay a subscription and then have access to all chapters of a series?
To get 2000 points I have to spend $25? And that doesn’t even cover really long running series such as Seven Deadly Sins or Fairy Tail.
