Fun until level 13-you’ll hate it after that!!
The game is impossible once you get to level 13. The courses get stupid with obstacles you never encounter in real golf. Your opponents always have the special golf balls to give them the advantage that you never have unless you pay through the nose for them. Your opponent hits a ball out of bounds and there is no one stroke penalty like in real golf so even though you play a hole perfectly, they can still get on the green and force a “closest to the hole” playoff which you can rarely ever win because they always have the special kangaroo balls. Big bug
While I love playing the game it has some major issues. Intermittently, though quite frequently, when pulling back the ball the game will stick and I will lose my turn. No big deal right? No. That means I will likely lose the game, ball and possibly power up that took a great amount of time to achieve. Way too many and long ads to get equipment and gems required to get anywhere in the game. I played this game everyday for at least 4 hours. Fun game mode suggestion
You guys really should add something that mimics the “weekly dungeon” in destiny 2. It’s been so long since I’ve played “destiny”, but if I remember correctly, the “weekly dungeon” would be a random level from the story mode selected each week and you were able to participate in the “weekly dungeon” as much as you wanted during the week but you were only allowed to reap the epic rewards from it twice. Game play is good. There is a lot going on all over the dashboard when you start, but you get used to it. As you progress you learn more shot techniques. I gave it 3 stars because there are 2 major flaws. 1. You can only battle friends if you have Facebook. (Is it too much to ask to use Google login?) 2. When you tie someone on a hole you play a 1 shot closest to the pin round (which in theory makes sense) Unfortunately 90% of the time no one can reach the pin because it’s too far away, so it becomes longest drive competition. Overheating phone
Oh boy my iPhone 11 keeps getting hot and makes the game glitch then I have to stop. I can only play one game at a time. I go watch a movie and it’s back to normal operations. Apple support asked me to get in touch with Golf Rival support team. I just uninstalled it and reinstalled it and it’s still getting very hot. As soon as I stop playing the phone cools off fast. I’m not sure what is going on but I’m going to have to stop playing this game and try another golf game. That’s wack! I just lost my last game cause my phone got so hot the system kept glitching so I couldn’t even play. Sadly

And then as you progress, you get touched-up for upgrades in special balls in order to play holes where you’re constantly facing shots up wind. You don’t HAVE to get the special balls but in order to progress in the game you will get nickel-and-dimed to death, or expect to lose every hole. Every shot and every hole you play you’re facing up wind, making every shot not only difficult to stay on the fairway, but difficult to hit your target. Challenging? The game is fun but the match making on the kingdom is horrendous don’t spend your money on the bonus gifts after you get past first stage it very difficult to even get a match it just spins and spins then when you do you get an opponent 3,4,5 levels above you in club strength I spend money but the match making makes me want to stop almost 1000 games in on regular mode and I have over 70% win ratio and with 250 games on kingdom it’s barely over 50% and kingdom to advance you have to win 2 games in a row to advance and it’s very difficult when the second game will be someone who out hits you by

Issues with fairness
So much to say, but keep it simple. This whole game is based on spending money. I accidentally clicked on a club to buy with no chance to confirm it, and spent 2500 gems on a club I don’t need and will never use. They could reverse the transaction but know how much that hurt me by my mistake and won’t correct it. Also, who it matches you up with needs to be dialed in when playing special challenges and in the Kingdom. Only the extremely elite players ever make it through to even become more stronger than before. The putting could also stand to be maybe slightly more difficult. In 10,000+ games
