I’ve been playing this game since around 2018. I’ve had so much fun and met so many people over the years through this game, including one of my closest friends and I’ve spend so much money on the game to so support and get skins that I could show off but after finding out that they were firing artist that have worked on the game for such a long time only to replace them with ai…I simply can’t support them anymore. Identity does not care.
As someone who has played this game since release, it’s hard writing this review. I have always loved identity V. even when I took huge breaks I’d always find myself coming back. It’s been about 10ish years now and to see the collapse of identity V is heart breaking. Identity V has always had racial issues by making POC characters skin lighter, making odd costumes, etc. they never listen to NA/EU, they pretend they do but when it’s huge concerns especially with racism, they turn an eye. Recently identity V was exposed for using generative AI on a huge tournament they do, and it broke my heart.

I have been playing Identity V for around 7 years now, I was always very fond of the art style and how unique it felt compared to other 1v4 games. Identity V has had many issues over the years with producing racist, stereotypical costumes and content, as well as whitewashing their POC characters and taking infinitely longer than they should to fix it. There’s been a spectacle online, with many users being highly disappointed by Netease’s usage of AI art in new character arts. Hunters camp the survivors all the time, to put in perspective I downloaded this game 4 days ago and played about 20 matches a day and each match had a camping hunters (hunter sits infront of chair) maybe you can add after the hunter puts someone in the chair the survivor should have a red circle around them and if the hunters in that circle the survivor doesn’t lose health? 2. Camping Problem
Campers don’t get punished for sitting there and staring at your teammates trying to rescue you. Even with successful rescues you’re either tunnel visioned by the camper or they just hit you two seconds after waiting for you to get out of the chair. Theres literally zero time to struggle successfully and escape the hunter’s grasp because of how close every chair on the map is. Even in ranked it’s pretty much everyone for themselves because the moment you’re chaired theres literally no point to saving because three of five ciphers can be done by the time you’re out and guess what? I don’t understand why hunters just stand there and hover over the rocket chair, every time I play as Hunter I never camp and I always win. I also think when playing a survivor you should be able to if you’re not going to increase the speed of the survivor at least have that ability to use a dash speed and have it have a cool down point it’s not fair when you’re the last survivor running and wounded cause everybody else has died from the camper, oh I’m sorry Hunter. you can’t even semi out run the hunter. I’ve played this game from 2018 to 2023. Its like DBD (i think it’s inspired by it) but in my opinion, it has controls that are easier to navigate. But a good chunk of the skins are only available through a pay wall, and they aren’t cheap either. Overall the game is fun you get to play with friends and make new ones but this game lets you get skins for characters and you don’t have to spend money on it but the Gacha system is weird it takes over 100 pulls just to get a S tier and also the SS tiers such as Lost Hope cost money and it’s around $500 just to get it and you could save up money over time but some people don’t have jobs or allowances and also some people just don’t have a patience for it such as myself a bit also when you lag and it reaches over 950 it makes you lag out the game and if your in a match you will loss mortality

Identity V is probably my all time favorite game because it has the right amounts of fun and stress at the same time, if that makes sense. I’ve played this game for years and I’m surprised I haven’t written a review yet. They game is an absolute time trap but its worth my time especially when I just want to sit down and relax but still do something. The public chat in this game is absolute gold I kid you not. Good game I guess, sometimes looks like a gambling game to new players (which it is) but here’s the thing. Why make it hard to get into CN for NA/EU but for CN it’s probably easy to get into global. I have an issue with the character limit while chatting with friends. I should be able to type out a full message in detail to my peers. I was simply trying to let one of my match mates understand why I was upset with them, and I was quickly silenced by the game when only half of my message went through.
