Laying Off Artists
Loved and technically grew up with this game, I became a working artist and was inspired by many of the artists in this game. Though many were laid off because Netease decided to use AI slop. Imagine using AI and still charging players $300 cosmetics?! Talk about biblical levels of greed.

I’ve been playing this game since season 19, and the hearing that Netease is cutting their artists and animators to make way for AI is my last straw. The game makes more then enough in revenue to pay actual artists, and this money hungry quality drop is absolutely disgraceful. Identity V who is a billionnair company charge some of their skin at the price of 500$ some times in some case even more yet the price is not the problem. In the most recents update of this game its been noticed that those very expenssive cosmetics suposed to be ‘’work of art’’ are unfortunetly IA generated. I really liked the gameplay as well as playing with my friends but the frequent use of AI is really bothersome. I prefer human made arts in any media I enjoy. I do not see any reason as to why such a successful franchise needed to use AI to generate characters and content when there are many talented artists and collaborators that would be happy to help the game without the use of AI.

Nobody wants the ai usage. Getting rid of jobs in order to put in ai that nobody wants is a horrible idea. It’s best to create jobs for employees who actually make quality work that players want. Please reconsider the ai usage or there will be a loss of players. They’re also white washing characters and getting rid of their unique features. Many of us (me included) cling onto characters like Enchantress, Forward and Batter because we see ourselves in them. It’s unfortunate that the racism is showing. It’s also hard to tell some characters apart now.
