Very disappointed
This was a forced alternative with Frontier/Verizon. The individuals who developed this have no understanding of content, or how to provide content. Buggy and Never Improves with Updates
Resume from last Watch rarely works. Yes, I try to watch from the Home Screen rather than the live screen. Sometimes it just takes you live ruining the game you had to pause. This issue is also on their Apple TV app, which is awful and has terrible picture quality.
Update: I still have all issues above plus it randomly stops fast forwarding or rewinding when double tapping either the left or right of the screen. It just gets stuck. Used to be great now you wait
When I first subscribed this over the Summer I loved it and was happy I left Xfinity. In the last month they have changed recorded sports to force you to sit through sponsored ads. If you try to fast forward the recording stops and the only option you have to watch is restart. This is a horrible deal for sports fans
95% of the $84 a month is an absolute waste. Only subscribe for the few sports that I watch. Really only worth it during the College Football season, I canceled immediately after the cfb championship. I watch other sports like NBA & Premier League but it’s only a few games a week compared to the bulk of those games being on other services for MUCH cheaper. Why continue paying $84 when I can get about 90% of NBA games on League pass on Prime for $160 FOR THE WHOLE SEASON and Peacock comes free with my Xfinity internet. app is no longer accessible
I'm blind and I use voiceover on my iphone. I can't use the live tab anymore with voiceover because the live screen displays too much information now. It used to show just the name of the network and what was on live right now. Now it shows whats on the networks not just right now but for several hours after as well. This means when I'm trying to scroll through the the networks to find something to watch I have to scroll through hours of programming on the same network before I can get to the next network. This makes it impossible for me to use the live tab. You should bring back the old view

I've had YouYubeTV off and on for several years. It's got a great selection of channels. Great quality video. Problems: 1. It's expensive. You pay a lot and still get tons of ads. 2. The recording function still cuts off the recording before the show is over. 3. Some of the networks are ridiculous. Out of Market NFL games Misnomer
I was very happy with the app and my additional purchase of the NFL ticket as I had no blocked content while watching multiple screen views when at home. However, even when changing my settings to traveling and temporarily away from home, certain games are blocked and not available. While local markets may prevail, FOX, CBS and NBC are still national companies so if we're paying to watch games from our local market while traveling and the content is blocked, then this is a waste of hard-earned money.

Tried to sign up for the free trial, immediately charged us $83 for the free trial. Proceeded to try to watch the game but the app wouldn’t let us change the playback location setting to where we actually live, so we couldn’t watch the game on the tv. Cannot Change Owner’s Email Address
While I really like YouTubeTV, I have a major complaint. I am very unhappy that I cannot change the owner email address.
I am phasing out an old, non-Gmail , email address, for which I have to pay. This is the one I originally signed up with for my YTTV. I found when I tried to change my account’s address to my Gmail address, I could not. I contacted support and they told me I would first have to cancel my current YTTV account with the original address and sign up as a new customer with my Gmail address. Failure to sign-up cause
I followed an online post that offered a 46% savings on signing up. I was sent to the Apple APP store because I have an iPhone. I reviewed every word of the APP listing and followed the instructions. It is very frustrating if you have a question that is not on the preordained help. “Contact us” is never replied to. Help links that they direct you to have links that don’t work or the menu has different options. I was given 2 choices for my home network. One choice is a city that we get on our HD antenna and is in a different state. The other choice is a city 4 hours away and those local channels don’t have our weather. I’m going to have to try a different way to stream tv. I have it to watch football. I always have to update location often. If it works out, I get to watch games. If it can’t update location, I don’t get to watch games. I do t ever try to watch games unless I’m at my house! God forbid you try to see an out of market game. The features in the app do not work. I have selected “Do Not Show” for a few shows and guess what? Not only do they continue to be displayed, they are at the TOP OF THE LIST! Annoying. YoutubeTV is a pretty good alternative to cable, much less expensive but there are issues! There really needs to be “delete” and “mark as watched” buttons for your library on the TivoStream app. Also on iPad the button to go into an episode to mark it watched is hard to hit, and you end up sometimes accidentally starting to watch the episode. The worst issue is that the “sponsored” episodes for some Paramount shows are ridiculous! If I wanted to watch ads, I’d just get the Paramount app with ads! I think everything about the app is great, but there is one major issue that they can take care of. They allow you to multi-stream up to 4 channels which is great. But the problem is they are pre-selected channels. They should allow the user to pick the channels that they multi stream with. In my case I’ve had two games that I would like to watch but because they don’t allow you to choose the channels you want to watch I’m forced to watch two other games I could care less about. I love this app, but there is something that’s very annoying. They allow you six family members, however the only way it will work is if they live in the same household. So if they don’t live in the same household, you’re screwed cause it kicks everyone out. I even tried the 4k to get the unlimited screens, however it’s only at home, and I’m ok with that. Location required
How many times am I required to verify my location while I’m sitting in the same spot in ten minutes? I had to do this at least five times and it is the single most infuriating thing that I have to do. I don’t even see why I have to. It wouldn’t be so bad if the app didn’t have so many glitches after I verify my location. Don’t get me wrong the app is great for using at home, but be prepared to exit the program you’re watching a million times if you’re traveling or on a mobile device. App freezes on some channels
When I tried to select a channel for live broadcast, the app would freeze. I could do nothing within the app except swipe it away. After repeatedly reopening, the same thing happened. Upgraded app and it still would not let me open the live broadcast. Overall, I like the App on my LG, but on iOS this seems to be a consistent problem and very frustrating when there was a football game on that I want to watch. In almost all cases the Phone app crashes when I’m attempting to watch a game on a local channel. When I open the TV app on my LG, it allows me to select and view the channel.

Worst Experience of my Entire Digital Life!
My experience with YoutubeTv was absolutely terrible. As an educator, I work hard to make ends meet and their service is by far the most expensive out there. I accidentally signed up with two email accounts due to an error in the app, but the system failed to detect that my credit card was being charged twice. Constantly checking location
This app is nuts. I have to constantly confirm my location so I can watch the local programming that I pay to see. It pauses my watching a show to confirm my location. I would think once a day should suffice, but every 30 seconds is little absurd. I can’t change zip codes that fast and often. It is really frustrated and during weather warnings, especially tornadoes, and needing local weather to keep safe. I guess google is worried that a tornado snatched me and re-located to a new viewer area and my local stations need to be updated. How thoughtful of them.

After several years, this is an excellent platform.
I’ve had this installed on an AppleTV 4K for about 6 or 7 years now.
It’s not frustration free… I’m not crazy about finding things in my “library” and the calendar only extends 18 hours into the future (and back in the cable TV epoch, the calendar extended two weeks into the future), but as a streaming platform, this is the gold standard.
Specifically:
1. You can watch a channel, waiting for “your show” to start, or

I honestly don’t get all of these bad reviews! I love YTTV! I don’t have any issues with freezing on my phone, in fact… it’s 10 times better than any experience I’ve had in the past with DISH, DirectTv and many other cable provider’s apps on the phone! Completely blows them out of the water!!
My only issue is I wish there were channel numbers so that I could go straight to a channel instead of having to click through the whole channel guide to get to what I want to see.

Gets channels but recording management needs major work
Gets the channels I want and you can record. However after having this awhile, the recording manager is extremely unwieldy. They had a way to track what I watched but it continually failed by randomly resetting the indicator. If you wanted to only display what you hadn’t seen the you manually had to set it. Now they seem to have abandoned that based on the app no longer able to set “watched” manually. Now everything is mixed together and when you have hundreds of recordings it’s a jumbled mess. Lagging issues
I finally need to address that there are lagging issues. Initially I thoughts it was network issues or WiFi. However lately I stream the same event on a different app and there are no issues. As an example todays Notre Dane game was lagging on the app with constant spinning. The. I switched to the CBS app and the game showed well without any lagging. Glitchy. Won’t show me anything in the window when I’m seeking through time more than half the time. Has so many problems skipping the commercials that it practically forces you to watch them. Resume playback is broken on the app
Update: now over 3 months and nothing has changed and no new communication on the support ticket I opened 2 months ago
The app worked very well for me for years but starting about 2 months ago my recordings in the app do not resume at the point I stopped viewing them. Selecting resume playback always restarts the recording.
