Description

Amplified Bible The Amplified Bible (AMP) is an English translation of the Bible produced jointly by The Zondervan Corporation and The Lockman Foundation. The first edition was published in 1965. It is largely a revision of the American Standard Version of 1901, with reference made to various texts in the original languages. It is designed to "amplify" the text by using a system of punctuation and other typographical features to bring out all shades of meaning present in the original texts.

I really enjoy the ease of use of this app—it’s intuitive and makes note-taking simple and efficient. One improvement I’d strongly recommend is reconsidering the placement of the delete button in the notes feature. Having it available while actively writing has led to several unfortunate moments where I’ve accidentally lost hard-earned notes by lightly grazing the delete option. It would be much safer to move the delete function to the main notes list, placing it to the right of each note instead. Additionally, adding an undo feature would be incredibly helpful, along with bullet-point formatt

Great but needs verse selection

I’m really enjoying this Bible and it allows me to go back and forth between my other bible translation app and this one for a more in-depth study with the amplified classic. My only suggestion for improvement is that there is no way to go directly to a verse. You have to scroll all the way down to get to it which can slow you down when you’re trying to keep up during a sermon or Bible study. Also, it’s very hard to see highlights in the dark background version.

The morning & evening devo alone is worth the download. Most folks don’t know that reading the AMP version is as close as you can get in the English language to reading the actual original Greek & Hebrew manuscripts. NIV is also much closer than NLT but not everyone is aware of this either. I praise the Lord for this AMP app. The tiny ads don’t block what you’re looking at. Get it and you will be blessed if you use it.

The Amp Bible is WONDERFUL! I am not new to the Bible, but I am new to the Amp version. I have to say it gave me a better comprehension of the Good Book. The Amplified Bible is the Bible I love when I am studying scripture. I rarely feel the need to look up key words in my Strong Concordance. It also has beautiful language which I find myself memorizing. For example, when I think “I have the mind of Christ!” I always add “I have the thoughts, feelings, and purposes of His heart.” It truly amplifies the meaning of scripture .

My Daily Bread

I love reading God’s Word everyday. During my devotional time I asked the Holy Spirit to lead and guide me each day. I asked God what do you want me to do today and I asked him to send someone across my path that needs to be saved. Last month when my other bible app update went not too well. Making it difficult to get better use like before. I gave this bible app a try. And so far this is a bit better. It isn't perfect.

Greek and Hebrew are very economical languages. You can say more meaning in Greek and Hebrew with fewer words than you can in English or American style English. When the translators of the Bible tried to bring the ancient languages into English they took the admonishment not to add to or detract from what the Word of God was saying as to mean that they needed to give a one word for one word translation. There is a Bible verse that ends with something like “. .. and faith comes by hearing the word of God. The Amplified Translation has been my favorite for a long time. I installed this app for one reason: because it has an option to hear the Amplified Bible read for you. However I found that although many choices of different male and female voices with either British or American accents can be selected, irrefutably, and distractingly not a single one of them even is a real person – they are all of an archaic artificial computer generated type that because of that fact unavoidably grates on my nerves, and is very, very disruptive making the capability completely useless to me. I bought it 1/2 price, from a ‘ bargain table’ at the end of ‘Camp-meeting’. It was of a much better quality leather than I had ever had before, and I knew nothing about the word, Amplified! But I read what the authors had written and liked what they said ! I have worn it out, and sent it off to be re-bound. And it’s almost ready for a second re-binding! The Amplified Bible

I read many different translations of the Bible and have consistently favored The Amplified Bible because it is translated from the original greek and hebrew languages. It enables me to understand the Bible much better, as it uses accurate descriptions of measurements, coinage, cultural and social mores, historically accurate time tables, maps, and references that clarify and “bring to life” scripture in a way that no other translation does. Reading this Bible for the past 30 years has allowed me to really come to know and trust The Lord and His Word.
