I don’t like the move to subscriptions, in part because the price jumps always seem to be so high. In this case you go from an app that cost just a few dollars to 40 dollars a year. I’m happy they only included new features in the subscription, but am still annoyed that I constantly see options for things, like full screen views, that require a subscription. Does a full screen view really justify 40 dollars a year? No. And since that’s the only new feature I want I’m stuck staring at the option all the time but not able to use it. I spent over $70 buying all their original apps. We love them. But then they came along with the Endless Academy. All that that $70 got us was an extra month or two to try it out. I did, and found there just wasn't enough additional content to justify the subscription. Now, they've added a whole music activity that could an entire standalone app. I'd pay for that. But instead, they're keeping it and all their other new content in the subscription model to force everyone in that direction. A sleazy business move. I wish I'd read the other reviews. Sound works for me, but there is so little to this app. The show is so educational and engrossing. This lets you open and close 4 clams that make music, and place the characters on rocks so they sing. No educational value about nature, science, friendship, or even music. My son and I were so excited to play it, but done about 5 minutes later. With such wonderful art and source material, I can't help but feel that this was a simple cash grab.
