Deleted app, even though I have a subscription
Hypocrisy: Impossible to turn off autoplay. Whenever I have written about this, they say they're working on the problem. They have even published an article about how annoying autoplay is, when they continue to offend. This goes back to years. Uses a massive amount of battery power. Other hypocrisy: Uneven comment moderation: Too often, a civil comment disagreeing with the author is censored, while another, deeply uncivil comment is allowed. I can get solid journalism from sources that do not waste their resources on inane summaries of TikTok “reels”; badly researched articles on health top

Plus: Has some powerful tools. Minus: the new version is less intuitive not more useful for me than the old version. Also, please, do not patronize users by naming a category of tools "faves", which is as cringe-inducing as "pics".

Limitations
It’s impossible to turn off Google “signed out search activity” until a search is already entered, and it resets to “on” each time the browser is cleared. I want to be able to turn this off permanently, or at least in advance, because Google is showing me traditional female biased search results that are at times bizarrely irrelevant to my requests and quite different from what I see when entering the exact same search terms on my husband’s devices. Privacy concern
This app is suggesting a wide range of friends to me ranging from a bad ex-employee to work acquaintances to people from hobbies I'm connected to only on Facebook. It is possible they extrapolated my connection to them through the degrees of separation, but I'm left with the lingering question of whether they've accessed my Facebook app without my permission. There are people I want no personal connection to outside of work, and this makes it awkward. I feel my privacy has been invaded and I'm creeped out. People can find their own friends.
