Since the mid 70’s to the late 80’s we always had the same UPS driver. I remember my father always talking to our driver like they were old friends. We lived on a dead end road in rural New York. The closest neighbor was 1 mile away. A few times a week the big Brown Truck would come up our driveway and turn around. The driver would spent a minute or two and emerge with the package of the day. It was easier to shop from the Montgomery Wards, Cabela’s and Sears catalogs than drive the 30 miles and waste a day. I spent a good part of my 20’s and 30’s in Boston and UPS followed.
