I actually worked for Bose for 18 years, and I can promise you, with absolute certainty, that the “software development team” there is a group of incompetent buffoons. I’ve had a whole bunch of these garbage SoundTouch devices for years now and not for 1 single day have they failed to disappoint. They also DO NOT care how disappointed customers are, which is why they fired the entire product support team (CFDT) a bunch of years ago and replaced them with a call center based in India.
