The Room 3 is a true puzzle masterpiece
I would like to say that this game is the most complex of the first 3 Room games and provides serious tests to your knowledge beyond what one could ever imagine. There are multi-room elements involved and you have to be open to exploration, clues, or both in order to take on some of the most challenging puzzles in the game. I would say that about 4% of the puzzles are very difficult to solve without clues and you will need to use very deep thinking in order to figure them out. I’ve really enjoyed playing this series of games. Since the first one was released I was happy with the challenges of each puzzle. The story was pretty interesting and enough to keep you going. Room 2 was good as well and a good follow up to the first. But room 3 by far is my favorite. The first two were pretty easy to focus on the level you were on until you progressed to the next. I first played The Room so many years ago. It was incredibly unique at the time, and I was mesmerized. Years later, many folks have copied these developers. But they are the best. There is SO much time and attention to detail. I’m really blown away. This is the kind of game we would have paid serious $$$ back in the CD ROM days for. It is a serious bargain now. I’ve been a long time fan of the Cyan projects (original play station game Myst). Have looked for years for games of this type where shooting, racing, speed etc. were not the premise of the game. Using your brain to deduce and calculate your moves. Mind twisting puzzles. Games where taking notes and forcing you to sometimes remember symbols and or instructions to solve many different types of puzzles. Such a wonderful game
This was such a beautiful, well crafted, atmospheric game. I felt the story line and chapters were more cohesive and thematic than Room 1 and 2. You get this wonderful, dark academia vibe throughout the whole game that is moody and somewhat eerie without being creepy. I did have to use the hints a few times, but mostly I was able to figure things out on my own and didn’t get overly frustrated. My only issues were really the ‘trackball’ function and not understanding how to use a rotary phone. Love this!!!!
We got the VR version for Christmas. I finished it in five days with our kids. They are between 10 and 14. We have all enjoyed playing that and downloaded many versions of the online mobile game. Definitely loved that this had way more options and lasted much longer than the room to that, I downloaded prior to this one. Insane improvements and definitely worth the time. Makes you think, still entertaining, and with or without the hints, it is still an equal balance of being able to figure things out in a timely manner. I never write reviews but I have to express my amazement with this whole series of games. The graphics are astoundingly intricate. The creativity is beyond anything your brain can anticipate. This may be the only game/puzzle in the App Store that I devour because it’s so incredibly entertaining and challenging. It’s the best puzzle game on iOS I’ve played. Please keep designing these games! The once piece of feedback I’ll offer is, and this is especially true with this version, the graphics and words are too small for the iPhone. Don’t understand why devs don’t do more games like this!
The Room games have been favorites since the first one arrived on the App Store, and the entire set is almost universally praised. A perennial favorite… Sp why are there not more games of this particular type??? The DaVinci games are good too, but almost the exact same sort of theme, and not as polished, but those are almost the only other games to be had of this type. Don’t get me wrong, these stem from other point-and-click puzzlers, and there are a fair amount of those. Fabulous sequel! Worth every penny
After the first two “Room” games, I had no idea how the developers would come up with new content. They excelled in this one!! Not only were the puzzles and mazes fresh and new, the rooms kept going and going and going from one screen to the next to the next to the next. As usual, the intricacies and graphics were stunning, and the 3-D interaction and gameplay made you feel like you were really *inside* the game as a participant. I have played a lot of different puzzle games, but I have yet to find a puzzle game that I enjoy more than “The Room” games. I just wish we could get them more often!

I played through the first two installments of this series in short order. While decent puzzle games, and gorgeous introductions to the game world and it’s somewhat steampunk aesthetic, they were a little lackluster in terms of challenge and storyline. So I beat the game. You can then revisit to find other ways to win. This is where my 5 star experience turns into a 2 star experience. I accidentally clicked the room that sends you to the outside observatory which is the last room in the game before you beat it. I didn’t want to go here but there’s no way back once you’re here. True to the series in graphics. Stunning. Puzzles less difficult and complex. A.S. is gone, as is the emphasis on the Null. More like a standard find the things escape room game. Has 3 alternative endings, but you cannot choose them, and if you don’t just happen to do them the correct order, you may not be able to enjoy them all without replaying the entire game instead of the last snippets. Still worth your time and money, but The Room 1 set a high bar which this one doesn’t reach. I’m still keeping it in case, one day, I want to try the two endings I cannot now access. The puzzles range from really easy to somewhat challenging, and when you are stuck, the clues give you increasingly detailed hints. You probably wont need more than one most of the time. The design is as good as the other titles - the scenes are beautiful, complex and well designed. The user interface always works - I was surprised that I never got stuck or couldn't reach something I should be able to (thats a hint in case you ever *feel* stuck - you are not!). I love the room games because they provide a mysterious and thrilling puzzle-solving experience. They do that in the room 3 without cheap scare tactics or horror. That is a great feat for a game such as this. Phenomenal game! The creators put so much thought and effort into every aspect with hundreds of puzzles and tricks for the user! Super impressed with the quality and craftsmanship. The room 3, before you buy
I know, I'm a bit late to the party here. But if you are going to buy the Room 3, well you should. As a follow up to the Room and the Room 2 this one is by far the most complex, beautiful, and entertaining of the Room series. While the main story is fairly simple and linear the puzzles allow for a great flow from section to section. Even puzzles as simple as the ones to access a new part of the manor are entertaining. Open world puzzle solving at its best.
These games continue to get better. If you haven’t played the first 2 games stop ready and go buy them. If you have played the first 2 hurry up and download this one. The puzzles are the perfect level of difficulty and they’ve added a new mechanic to the eyepiece that’s pretty neat. The story aspect of this game fills in a few answers you might have had from the previous two. It took me roughly 5 hours to get just the first ending. With several hours of additional gameplay to get the other 3 endings. So you definitely get your money’s worth in my opinion. Plus the game is just downright pretty

Absolutely amazing
I only discovered the Room series a couple of months ago. I started with the first and continued through to the others, always wishing the game would not end. I had not seen a game like this ever since I played Myst many years ago. The graphics are incredibly realistic and you can look at an object or a room from many angles. I had finished all three Room games before but never completed ALL endings to The Room Three prior to today. Honestly, how different could they be. Compared to “alternative endings available in other games, this one beat all. Yes, some of the repetitiveness of a few the steps got monotonous (not really a spoiler alert), and I could do them in my sleep; however, pushing through them was a necessary part of the game and did not detract too much from gameplay. I love the Room Series, and The Room 3 was just as awesome as its predecessors. The beautiful HD rich game kept me enchanted and lost within its walls. Hard, but not too hard. There are hints available if you need them. My only hope is for a continuation of the series. I like that in this version once you finish you can play again and alter your fate. This game was the most amazing thing I’ve ever done with my iPad. The graphics, the puzzles, the creepiness of the rooms, house, and overall environment...it was just phenomenal. The puzzles were challenging but not at all frustrating. Just study all aspects of each puzzle, and you’ll get it easy enough. The whole game suggests a complexity that really isn’t there, frankly. I have completed and loved every Room game so far but Room 3 is simply mind blowing in its beauty and complexity. There is a story but honestly its less of the draw than the puzzles and variety of rooms you visit. The puzzles are abundant, far more than game 1 and 2. I refused to use any hints so it did take me hours to complete but it is possible. The puzzles are hard enough to be challenging but not impossible. They are frankly brilliant. The Room series of games have by far been the best I’ve seen and played! I’ve only recently found other game manufacturers that use the same types of 3-D visuals, puzzles, and strategy.
