Great FREE app
With every app charging a subscription fee these day it’s refreshing to find a free app that is useful. I love the Hungry Girl Diet book and this makes the plan super easy to follow. Being able to create a food plan on the calendar that I can reference throughout the day and week is so helpful. I also love that it generates a grocery list. I can go down the list, checking off items I already have and then create a list from the items I still need instead of having to go through each recipe.
The only thing I would love love love to see updated is adding in the choices from the companion cookbo

Disappointed in Hungry Girl
Thought with all of the negative reviews, and suggestions on how the app could be more helpful, they might finally update the app and make it a little better. Guess she’s more interested in making money off her cruises & books. Have to admit, if you choose money over your followers, it’s not truly about wanting to help people and doesn’t make me want to buy/follow anymore. Listen to your loyal fans Lisa!

This app is perfect for its purpose- for use alongside the book. It does everything it claims to... not sure why anyone would expect it to replace a fitness tracker, that’s simply not the purpose nor does it claim to be! Love this app. Sad it has low reviews, it does exactly what it’s supposed to!

Dedicated fan but...
I love all of Hungry Girl books. I thought maybe this app could take the place of a tracker like Fitness Pal. It can’t. At a minimum, I wish the HG app would give the recipe and nutritional values of the food options. To prove that people have the book, you could require them to log on and reference a specific word on a certain page. Or something like that.

Helpful but needs updated
I have found this app so helpful to my weight loss goals, and it is great with the first diet book, but it would be even better if it also gave options beyond the first month. The ability to include or add recipes from the Diet Cookbook as well as the other Hungry Girl cookbooks as well would be a huge help. It would be something that people would most likely be happy to pay for the upgrades for. Since a lot of her recipes are on the website it could be easy to link to those recipes to add the title and photo and grocery list to the dish. This would help so many people stay on track!

Shopping list issues
I have the book and used this app to build out my menu for the week. Originally I gave this app very poor marks because of issues with the original shopping list. However, after I went to the "help" section I realized I wasn't clicking each day individually to select it (I thought I could select the beginning and end date ranges and the list would be created from all the meals within the date range.) Not so, click each day so it highlights. So now my chief complaint is the poor user interface as you open the app, it's way to vague on how to get to the menu of options). You must click on the se

Love it
I love how easy this app is. It is a really good companion app to the book. I only wish I could see what I chose from the drop downs on the food calendar. It's great for making the shopping list, but as I go through the week I can't remember what I said I would eat (i.e. Zucchini and cauliflower with the veg and bean bowl, pistachios or almonds, or what fruit was going to be my side, etc). I have to choose something from the drop down, but then it just disappears. I love everything ends about the book and the app.

Very Disappointing
I've downloaded the app at least 4 times and I still can't get it to work correctly. The first time, I was unable to cross items off of my shopping list, so I removed the app and I tried downloading it again...3 more times to be exact. The other three times, I couldn't get the app to do anything more than display the opening graphics. Very disappointing.

This app is SO well-made, it almost blew my head off!
Easy-peasy to navigate and to plan a week's meals.
Admittedly, I haven't had more than a couple of days to see if it's user-friendly interface has any 'crash flaws', etc...but so far so good.

I have noticed 2 very obvious improvements needed for hasty updates.

A great app with a lot of potential
It made grocery shopping easier in a lot of respects but....my in some ways it needs more granularity. My husband went shopping and lost patience with the high volume vegetables. To him a veggie is a veggie. We are both doing the plan, yet we can't share the info across phones. Hope for a future tie ins to the other books. If I check off owning a book, then it can put in the shopping list.
