WHERE DO ALL THE ADS COME FROM?
2026 May- using the app for over a year. I listen to a local radio station (WSB) with no difficulties until recently. Now the app plays 3+ minutes of ads before streaming station. Behavior only began within the last week or two. What’s sad to me is it’s not uncommon to you’re the same ad repeat in the same block before the station starts streaming.

RadioApp is a standout in that it functions as if it’s a 70’s era component tuner. It features an FM dial with a tuning indicator where you swipe left or right to move up and down the dial. The frequency upon which you land has a number of stations indicated where you can select the specific one you have in mind according to the areas you have chosen to be included as to what will likely come up. Once you pick a station, tuning away and then coming back will pull up the same station when you once again land at that same frequency. It’s a totally natural and intuitive way to operate a radio

One of the best radio apps in my Opinion.
I’ve tried a lot of radio apps and this is honestly my favorite. What makes it so good is how simple it is. It doesn’t overwhelm you with a bunch of extra features or complicated menus. You just open it and start listening. That simplicity is what gives it its charm. Other radio apps feel cluttered or overdone, but this one keeps it clean and easy. It does exactly what it’s supposed to do and does it well. Definitely better than the others I’ve used.

Literally everything I have been looking for
I have been searching for an app that would allow me to listen to local stations. Outside of manual radios, I struggle to find my local college radio anywhere. Other apps took minutes of fighting bad UI to discover they didn’t have it. This app’s UI took seconds and just worked. I can easily find local stations without all the horrendous clutter. All the other features like song recognizing/saving, selecting regions are a great bonus.

I like the “feel “ of the app, BUT, after downloading it, it started promoting a premium subscription. Look, give me a chance to see if the basic is any good before pimping the upgrade. Then, it zeroed in on radio stations on the other side of the state. As I’m trying to figure out how to get it more local, it jumps into “Hey, wanna Siri shortcut?” Before I could say “No” it put one in and then just stayed, or got stuck on that screen. As far as actually listening, I have no clue. Sorry.

I’ve had the free version of this app for more than five years. I’ve tried several others overtime, but I always come back to this one because it offers me the best performance and ability to find the main radio station that I’m interested in plus some interesting ones that I never knew existed. Long time user loved the app finally got the subscription to get rid of the extra ads and you still get a ad everytime you open it or close the app and reopen it. Simple And Robust, But Needs Scan
This is a very nice radio app. You can listen to channels from different countries, U.S. states, and even different regions from the states. There’s a lot of extra features like weather display, timers and Siri integration. You can even save a song directly to an Apple playlist with one tap. I just wish it had scan to browse through stations. It does offer seek, but I have to keep tapping to change stations. A ‘Start/Stop’ scan would be nice. Great app, though.

Great app, too many out of market advertisements
I love the app! My AM radio is junk on my 25 Traverse and it has no HD radio. This was the perfect replacement. I use it to listen to my favorite AM stations in the Metro Detroit area. My only complaint is that they play out of market advertisements, like from Texas and Missouri. The ads tend to interrupt the broadcasts often, cutting in early.

Constant commercial interruptions like other reviews say. It used to not be as bad but it’s almost unbearable this past year. Station can be playing fine but then just cuts out and starts playing commercials. And the developer says it’s the station doing it, not the app. But it’s playing commercials that aren’t even played on the station since I can listen to the station on my phone and in my truck as the same time.

Absolutely the best. I use it at work. I havnt paid for it but if I wasn’t lacking funds it’s one of the first things I’d pay for and explore as many radio channels as possible. I love what I get for free it’s incredible.

Basic radio streaming app
Very clean interface that lets you access streaming ratio stations - if that station has a streaming radio URL. It is unable to “tune” to some stations in my area that I know have URL links for audio streaming, but there is a submission link which I presume is to let the developers know so they can add it. Some stations did come up in search but were not available to listen to. This may be a fault of HOW that station’s streaming URL works? The radio station’s stream of course has ads. The free app doesn’t seem to insert additional audio ads before playing the stream and there are no annoying v

as of Aug 2025 there are 2 problems: at times a radio station becomes suddenly unavailable without even trying to buffer (in case of slow internet traffic). The other problem is the constant slamming with multiple commercials that interrupt the broadcast at random times. You listen to the news and then in the middle of the sentence they slam you with the commercial… Awful experience.

App is extremely glitchy and must be constantly refreshed
This RadioApp is extremely glitchy. It constantly loses the station and goes “station unavailable” or buffers even when I have 3-4 bars. I have it linked to a car radio and many times I have to stop and force close the app on my phone to play a station at all. It comes through clear when it does but that’s when it works. Also it gave up on the location and only plays PSA ads like Highway safety and adopt a teen ads instead of the radio station’s own ads so you miss out on any local events that are frequently advertised by the station. I sleep with this app. There are many others but, I can plug in my Bluetooth speaker and my dogs and I listen to Iowa Public Radio on classical music for our sleep journey. I enjoy that I can also listen to different radio stations in different countries. I, personally, listen to Mexican radio while I’m working. Thank you for this app. Rate 5-Star!!
