I really enjoy the convenience of parking with the App. It's easy to use and you never have to worry about getting a ticket. Ten minutes before the meter is expiring, you get an alert to extend your parking. Definitely a Great App.

Get rid of the extra fee
The app itself is nice but the $0.35 fee when not paying for 2 hours is ridiculous (or at least continue to waive it for adding to that same transaction). The boxes accept credit card and don’t charge extra fees so not sure why the app charges. Also the boxes usually don’t even work when trying to use change anyway. The preload is pretty dumb too since it should just let you use ApplePay or a credit card per transaction.

I paid for parking the old-fashioned way, ie, inserting a card into a machine, and had a receipt texted to me. When I realized I was going to go over my allotted time, I downloaded this app to extend. The app recognized my phone number as a previous user, so I was directed to enter my PIN. I do not remember my PIN, as I last had the app several years and phones ago. When I attempted to reset my PIN, I was instructed to update credit card information for a card I have not used in years. Since I did not have that credit card information, I could not use the app to extend my time. I could not lea

Convenient!
If you’re frequenting Chicago, this is a really convenient app. Preload funds and list your usual cars, then all you have to do is identify your zone and select your time. It cuts the walk to toll machines, and I really like that you can extend your time and receive notifications when you’re close to your session ending.

I have used the app for years. It’s mediocre at best. But what gives it a horrible rating today is the fact that I cannot load money into my wallet. I can’t use it to pay for parking for a weekly activity I go to with my kids. I need to be able to use it and it keeps saying error. I’m using the up to date version. When I tried getting help they would not do anything to help.

This app does nothing other than take your money for parking. It charges a fee to do so. It does not provide any information regarding zones, streets, locations, or even when payment is required or not. The machines don’t work so the app is required, which charges a fee… convenient. Park mobile is based on phone number. If it changes you have to create a new account and ask for a refund of your money. Also with that said if you get a new number and someone else created an account already with it, you cannot create a new account.

This app is pretty good and you can pay to park everywhere but 1 the issue is if you forget your passcode and it’s connected to your number you can’t get in. 2 You have to put in a $20 deposit even when you already have money in the account even if you already have enough because they don’t want your balance to be zero. 3 you have to put $20 in that’s stupid and you have a two hour limit.

The zone I park in is limited to 2 hour increments in the middle of a residential neighborhood. 2 hours! The app makes it convenient but it’s still annoying that I can’t pay for more at once. It’s also very expensive to park here.

This app is a scam
ParkChicago is a blight on the city of chicago. None of the revenue goes back to the city- in fact, City of Chicago has to reimburse ParkChicago if they close meters at any time for street work! ParkChicago has a stranglehold on street parking in the city and it shows. Compare the usability of ParkChicago to others in the space such as ParkMobile- bugs, forcing you to keep a floating balance in the app, and service fees we didn’t have to pay when the city still used meters haunt this app. I’ll continue to use ParkChicago, but only because there is no alternative.

Need to be fixed
This app needs a functionality fix. If you forget your PIN, then you are forced to reset it. Which is fine, except that in order to reset the PIN it requires you to enter the same credit card information that was/is on your account. The problem is if you’ve gotten a new credit card and no longer have the old credit card information they stored on your account (and you can’t remember it) then you cannot reset the PIN and you have no way to log into this app.

I was very hesitant to use this app, but I was so tired of running up and down the street trying to find a pay box. So far the app has worked well. It does give a warning when you’re getting ready to run out of time on your meter and it gives you the option of adding time. I find this very helpful. I think so far I’ve been one of the lucky ones. I haven’t had any trouble with my app, but I read that some people have. So far so good.

Stop honking!
The app is nothing special, but it does what it’s supposed to do. But, cripes — how about a pleasant ding to warn about expiration? I connect my phone to my car stereo and the expiration warning is a LOUD car horn honking out of nowhere. This is seriously annoying and unsafe since for a second I always think I’m about to get hit my another car! I want to be notified, but I don’t want the you-know-what scared out of me!

I think most of these positive 5-star reviews are fake. There is no way this app gets 5 stars. First of all, this is the only parking app that requires you to preload $20. Then, it requires you to reload if your balance gets down to $10. So you can never use the full amount you paid. With every other parking app I have used in the Chicago area and in other cities, you can just pay for your one time parking event without being forced to preload more cash than you’ll use. AND in any account experience that lets you reload, they typically let you set the parameters for when you want to preload an

Won’t let you cancel.
There is absolutely no reason this app can’t let you X out of a session you started by accident. A previous zone accidentally loaded and I couldn’t cancel. I started a second session in the correct zone hoping it would cancel out the first one. Nope! So I had two simultaneous sessions on the same car which is the stupidest thing ever. Money grab. They require you to submit for a refund instead which is an easy way to steal your money because they know people will be too lazy to complete those extra steps.
