Wavelength is the only app that measures the real light reaching your eyes and coaches your everyday sleep and jet lag. Your phone already has the sensor. Point its camera at the room and Wavelength reads the melanopic light reaching your eyes, the blue-rich wavelengths that set your body clock, and tells you whether it is helping or hurting your sleep right now. Circadian apps come in two kinds. Light meters hand you a number and leave you to figure out what to do with it. Coaching apps build you a sleep plan but never see the light you are actually in. Wavelength is the only one that does both: it measures your real light and coaches your real schedule. The live light meter is always free. Start a 7-day free trial to unlock the coaching. MEASURE Point your iPhone camera at the light around you. Wavelength estimates melanopic lux, the light that drives your circadian system, and gives you an instant color-coded reading and a clear verdict: at target, well under limit, or too bright for this hour. COACH A reading on its own does not change anything. Wavelength weighs your current and goal sleep schedule, the time of day, your circadian phase, and the direction you are trying to shift, then tells you to seek or avoid light right now and when the next window opens. DAILY TIMING Set your current bedtime and your goal bedtime. Wavelength schedules daily reminders: - When to start dimming before bed - When bright light will pull your sleep in the right direction - When light would work against your goal JET LAG Crossing time zones runs the same model against a new schedule. Wavelength tells you when to chase light and when to hide from it, so you land closer to local time. BUILT ON PUBLISHED SCIENCE Thresholds follow Brown et al. (2022) in PLOS Biology, the expert-consensus recommendations for indoor light: - Daytime: 250+ melanopic lux for alertness - Evening: under 10 melanopic lux before bed - Sleep: under 1 melanopic lux Phase and amplitude response modeling is based on Hannay et al. (2019) in the Journal of Biological Rhythms. Research also links better-aligned sleep to steadier mood and daytime focus. Wavelength supports sleep and circadian alignment; it does not diagnose or treat any medical condition.
