Choosing which room becomes the office, the nursery, or the bedroom shouldn't be guesswork. NestSense turns your iPhone into a room surveyor. Walk room to room and run a two-minute survey in each: it measures the noise floor through the microphone, estimates light in lux through the camera's exposure metadata, tests your real network speed where you actually stand, and reads the barometer for the tiny pressure flutter that gives away drafty windows. Then it tells you straight: • "Best office: Back bedroom — quietest floor, strongest network." • "Worst nursery: Street-side room — 3× more night-noise events." WHAT NESTSENSE MEASURES • Noise — the room's noise floor in dB, peaks, and overnight noise events • Light — estimated lux through the day (morning, midday, evening) • Network — real latency, jitter and throughput where you actually sit, not just bars • Drafts — barometric micro-fluctuations that give away leaky windows and doors NIGHT WATCH Leave the phone in a candidate nursery or bedroom overnight, plugged in. NestSense counts discrete noise events — passing cars, door slams, sirens — hour by hour, and gives you a morning summary. The screen stays true black, and no audio is ever recorded. SCORES THAT KNOW THEIR LIMITS Each room is scored 0–100 for Office, Nursery and Bedroom against comfort guidelines (like WHO night-noise levels). Scores are marked provisional until you've added the data that matters — light at different times of day, a full night of noise data. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Everything is measured, scored and stored on your device. No account, no analytics, no ads, no tracking. Audio is analyzed as loudness numbers in memory and never recorded; the camera reads exposure metadata and never takes a photo.
