Description
Build real confidence with intermediate German grammar (Deutsch Grammatik)—fast. This app turns tricky rules into simple, bite-size lessons with clear explanations, lots of examples, and practice MCQs that actually help you remember what you learn.
Who it’s for
• Learners moving beyond the basics (A2 → B1/B2 German) and frequent travelers to German-speaking countries
• Motivated beginners who want a clear, structured German course
• Busy adults who prefer short, focused study sessions on grammar, verbs, and word order
• People intending to improve reading, writing, and speaking German for work, study, or travel
What you’ll learn
• Verb foundations: Präsens, Perfekt vs. Präteritum, Plusquamperfekt, Futur I; modal verbs (können, müssen, dürfen, sollen, wollen) in real sentences
• Key tenses & moods: Konjunktiv II for politeness and “would” sentences, reported speech basics (Konjunktiv I), passive voice (Vorgangspassiv & Zustandspassiv)
• Cases & articles: Nominativ, Akkusativ, Dativ, Genitiv; der/die/das vs. ein/eine, pronouns in each case, typical verb–case patterns
• Word order (Wortstellung): verb-second (V2), questions, inversion, main vs. subordinate clauses (weil, dass, wenn, obwohl), position of nicht and other adverbs
• Prepositions: two-way prepositions (in, an, auf, über, unter, vor, hinter, zwischen) with Akkusativ/Dativ; fixed-case prepositions (mit, nach, für, ohne, seit, wegen, trotz, während)
• Nouns & adjectives: gender patterns, plural forms, adjective endings (weak/mixed/strong) with clear tables, comparisons & superlatives (größer/am größten)
• Pronouns: personal, reflexive, possessive, relative (der/die/das, wo, was); using es in dummy subject structures
• Core contrasts & “tricky pairs”:
– sein vs. haben as auxiliaries
– Perfekt vs. Präteritum in spoken vs. written German
– schon vs. erst, doch in natural replies
– wo / wohin / woher, da-/wo-compounds (damit, worüber, wofür, dafür, darüber)
How it works
