MoodFire is a mobile companion for the hard moments. Small, practical tools you can open at 11pm without feeling worse. Not another wellness app to fail at. No streak shaming. No urgency. Just quiet, useful things for the days when you need them.
Check in
A short mood check-in to see how today is landing. Over time, notice patterns in your mood, anxiety and the rhythm of your week. Optional questionnaires inspired by recognised measures such as GAD and PHQ give you a steadier read on the trends.
MoodFire does not diagnose anxiety, depression or any mental-health condition. It is designed to support reflection and self-awareness.
Reframe
CBT-inspired prompts for anxious or unhelpful thoughts. Slow the moment down. Notice the pattern. Find a more balanced perspective. A practical place to land when overthinking takes over.
Ground
Short, gentle grounding exercises for moments when you feel overwhelmed or caught in your thoughts. Bring your attention back to the present, one quiet step at a time.
Breathe
Sixty seconds of guided breathing. Whenever you’re ready. No timers shaming you, no goals to hit. Just a way to settle the body when the mind won’t.

Reframe, sharper
The Reframe tool now spots the cognitive distortion behind a difficult thought before it answers. Catastrophising, mind-reading, all-or-nothing thinking. It names what's happening, then helps you put the thought into calmer words. The suggestions feel less like a script and more like your own voice on a clearer day.
Share with your therapist
A new export. Tap once and MoodFire builds a clean PDF of your last 28 days: mood pattern, sleep, the tools you reached for, the days that needed more. Send it before your next session. Nothing leaves your phone unless you press send.
Breathe, longer and slower
A new coherent 5.5 second pace joins the ninety second box-breath, with one, three or five minute sessions. A slower, steadier pace some people find easier to settle into. No jargon, no countdowns. The Apple Watch app now carries Breathe too, alongside check-in, so you can run a session from the wrist if your phone is across the room.
Streaks that hold
A 36 hour grace before a streak resets. Real life gets in the way. A late evening, a long sleep, an honest day off. None of those should be a reason to start again from zero.
Quietly behind the scenes
The onboarding flow is calmer end to end: gender, birth date and country pickers all read in line now, the progress bar shows up where it should, and the sign-in buttons match the rest of the app. The sonic logo no longer plays when MoodFire is launched in the background. Apple Watch keeps the screen lit through a Breathe session instead of dimming halfway. The watch lands on Home when you open it. The wrist companion has its own smart-prompts toggle in My Account.

Enhanced Insights
The Insights screen has been quietly rebuilt. Your weekly rhythm now reads as a real chart, your recovery curve actually shows up, and the timing heatmap has the depth and detail it always wanted. Morning and evening summaries are warmer, more honest, and use the right time buckets.
A countdown while your wearable is still learning
Connected a smart watch but your body data is still finding its feet? You'll now see a friendly card counting down the days until your body-and-mood patterns are ready, instead of looking at empty space.
Streak nudges that actually behave
We were quietly nagging some of you about days you hadn't missed. That stops now. Streak recovery nudges only land if there's a genuine gap.
A few softer landings
Reopen the app while an Unwind session is playing and you'll come back to Unwind where you left it. Streak celebrations no longer loop. Watch check-ins clear the home screen dot the instant they land. Plus a quiet polish pass on the My Account screen.

**What’s New**
We’ve made MoodFire safer, more relevant and more locally supportive.
This update broadens our in-app safety support for people in New Zealand. MoodFire can now connect users to local, New Zealand-based services across more situations, including eating disorder support, sexual harm, family and domestic violence, alcohol and drug concerns and Rainbow / LGBTQ+ support.
We’ve also improved the Reframe tool so it better recognises thoughts linked to fear of judgement, embarrassment or worrying what other people think. Reframe suggestions should now feel more relevant and helpful for thoughts such as “I worry what people think of me” or “I always embarrass myself”.

Body & Mood
Connect Apple Health and we'll start looking at how four signals (sleep, heart-rate variability, resting heart rate, and steps) line up with how you've been feeling. After about three weeks of check-ins, you'll see a Body & Mood card on your Mood Trends screen with the patterns that look meaningful for you.
You choose
This is fully opt-in. Nothing is read from your Health app until you turn it on in My Account, and you can switch it off and wipe the data from your device at any time.
Your data stays put
Sleep, HRV, resting heart rate, and step data are stored only on the device you connected them on, encrypted at rest. None of this leaves your phone or reaches MoodFire's servers.
