Best tuner AND best metronome
I’m a pro musician and teacher, bought TE a decade ago and to this day I’ve never found a better app for either of these functions. Don’t mess around with any of these free* apps, buy this once and never think about it again.

My world is rocked
I bought this app and my wig is blown off, I play alto tnorbass scrowsta 🥰 and I tried out the tuner I was 7 scales over 3 high higher then I should be😧 I didn’t know this… maybe this is why I got a cymbal thrown at me, I love Mr. Funk☺️ this has helped me so much as a oil pastel artist 👩‍🎨 my math teacher told me to not to not to write reviews because AI would find me and hurt me, but I’m a rebel and rules weren’t ment to be followed by THIS gal… this a wonderful app😊

Worth the money! Must-have for anyone with an instrument. Best metronome and tuning app.
This app is simply awesome. Whether you are composing a song and are finding a good BPM for it, or you have a piano that is out of tune and want to make it in tune, or anything else, this app is for you! It is very customizable. After you pay 6 dollars, you don't even have to pay for anything else! So you just pay, and don't worry about DLC or anything like that. And you don't need a tuner and a metronome, because this app does both! In conclusion, I absolutely love this app and it is worth it.

Room for improvement
I am a percussionist and so I tune drums very often, mostly timpani’s. The tutor is great. I usually use the sustain feature to just put the tone up in my ear and then tune the timpani by ear, but sometimes I also use the tuner that actually shows you how close you are to the right note so overall the tuner feature works great but the metronome feature has a really serious issue. while practicing I noticed that it does actually fluctuate in speed every so often and it’s not accurate, so I have to use a different app for a metronome. This is a very serious issue that needs to be fixed because

Awesome but
This app is awesome. The only feature missing for me is the ability to create tuning presets. I play different instruments tuned in different temperaments and it would be nice to have the ability to switch between presets.

It’s okay
So basically, I had to practice one of my songs which don’t get me wrong I’m terrible at playing, but I was using the metronome and realized that the animation was not matching up with the ticking and it was very inconsistent. Then I looked at the second to see how long the metronome was running for, and the timer was counting in burst of three, then there was a long pause and then more words of three I don’t think it could possibly be that hard to count normal normal seconds. Everything else is fine, but the metronome.

KING OF TUNERS
I’m changing my review from saying this is the best- to now better than the best. Especially after the recent update where the tuner and metronome are in the same spot, I am more in love than ever before. The developers of this app know who their audience is. Worth 10x more cut than it cost.

Everything you need
Honestly no complaints besides there’s a lot of stones I haven’t unturned within the app. It does every job and more and it’s only a purchase, not a subscription which is great. Have been using it for the last 8ish years and it’s never disappointed me unlike other mets/tuners in the App Store.

Best for music
I’m a young musician and my teacher recommended this app to me. I have had no problems with it and love to practice with it everyday. It has a built in tuner, metronome for all time signitars and rhythms. Of course there is more than that. Highly recommend

Get this game now if you play an instrument
This app is great. The only thing is that when you get it if you don’t click allow it to hear it is pointless but if you do click allow, it is so much fun you wouldn’t think system would be this fun. I play the flute and it is fun watching the smiley face get bigger and bigger and bigger until I have smiley babies lol

Worth many more pennies
This app is transformational in the things that can do to help. You become a better musician, the intonation practice tool that allows you to hear the tone you’re trying to play and whether or not you’re in tune the multiple different time signatures that are available with subdivisions for metronome practice. This app has it all and has made be a better musician. Thank you you tonal energy.

Completely elevates music capabilities
This app has so many incredible features that have allowed me to increase my musicianship by a multitude of levels. For such a low price, this is the best use of 3$ you can ever spend as a musician. Could not recommend more.

Convenient and versatile tuner
I currently have a 7 day practice streak going right now and have enjoyed using this app to practice. When practicing I like to leave it going on my phone while I practice and use the metronome feature which can be adapted up to 1000 tempo and in many time signatures too. It’s also an amazing tuner because it can be used for any instrument and it has a simple yet consistent interface that makes tuning especially easy when using the tuning wheel.
★★★★★
Phenomenal Metronome!
I’ve been looking for a tool to take my drumming practice seriously, and TE Tuner is LEGIT. It’s not just a click—it’s a full practice partner. The Metronome Assistant (the robot!) is a game-changer. It handles the heavy lifting like Bar Silencing for my timing drills and Auto-Tempo changes so I can focus on my hands, not the screen. Honestly, even with all I’m using, I feel like I’m barely scratching the surface of what this thing can do. The depth of control you get here is insane. If you’re trying to actually get better and not just play along, this is the app. 10/10

Everything is typically good it’s the tuner that’s debatable…
This could just be a me problem, but it’s going way to fast, and sometimes entirely miscalculates notes. I just find it hard to use when i changes its calculations so quickly. I enjoy a slow, easy, accurate tell of how flat or sharp you are. Other than that, I enjoyed the metronome abilities, settings, etc. It’s just the tuner that I often avoid using. It’s pretty bipolar. Yet again, it could just be a problem on my end, but still. Other than that, it’s great!
★★★★★
Worth the money
I bought this for myself as a treat. It is absolutely worth it. You can adjust the sensitivity of the tuner, create complex patterns on the metronome, and sustain drones with one or multiple pitches. There’s also a keyboard function that you can use as well. It’s a very dynamic app. It does take a little bit of getting used to, because not everything is intuitive. But I’ve used it for a few years and now it’s all I’ll use.
★★★★★
What apps should be
I bought this app over 15 years ago due to recommendation from a music teacher. It was very helpful then, now I don’t even play an instrument anymore yet I still find myself using this for niche cases. To see it continuing to be updated and developed is awesome to me, as I’ve had plenty of apps that I loved eventually become unsupported. The quality/details put in to the features they have should be the standard for every tool app on the App Store.

I have used TonalEnergy for about 10 years now and absolutely love this app. I’ve used it in place of physical tuners even. It has taken me from middle school band class to the professional scene playing gigs and everything in between. Could not recommend this app enough!

It was pretty good.
It’s a rock solid tuner with a great system. You can set how fine the tuning should be and you actually hear the notes for your instrument. The metronome is pretty great too. I really like this app. The only advice I have for anyone is to close the window completely when you’re done because it’s always listening. But I love this app, and I totally recommend Tonal Energy for every musician of any age or skill.

I love this, but…
There should be an option to contest a mixed streak. I don’t know how determines a cutoff, but I tuned my guitar, switched to a different metronome app, and when I went back to retune after 15 minutes I lost my 112 day streak. The same thing happened months prior where I lost a 105 day streak. It’s not a huge deal since I practice every day regardless, but it’s nice to see a tracker here that counts my progress. If you’re a dev for this, please add an option to contest a lost streak or at the very least change the day counter to keep track of whether or not I’m playing in the new day or not. F

Phenomenonal
This tool has absolutely transformed the way I practice my instrument and I’ve just scratched the surface of its capabilities. One of my favorite features, though small, is its ability to track your practice: your streaks, how long you’ve practiced each day, and what functions you’ve used. I only venture to request a display of the time of the day you practiced, and perhaps a display of a few practice trends and statistics (most common time of day to practice, functions most used, etc.). I think this would further help myself and others plan and track my practice. Again, a fantastic tool rig

I've been using this app for many years as both a tuner and metronome. TE is generally very good but it has a consistent bug that is driving me crazy. On any given day I practice in several 15 to 20 minute sessions with the app open only when playing -- accumulating let's say two hours of total practice. Then I go and check a date range for YTD or the current month to see how many hours I've accumulated over time. It calculates that fine. Then I do another 20 minute practice session on the same day and returned to see what my monthly total is. The app crashes and after it restarts, that

I love this app. The guy on the metronome is very funny and makes me and my friend laugh all the time. We even named him Gorpin! The reason I gave this app a four star review instead of a five star review is because when I try to set a timer on it and then go to a different tab or app, it doesn’t stay on it deletes even if I don’t ex out of the app.

Insane value for any musician
Absolutely fantastic tuner but also practice tool with incredibly powerful metronome and practice options. It’s crazy how much is packed in here. I speak from vocalist, guitarist and keyboard player experience but this can be used in any of these contexts and I imagine would also be extremely useful for musicians of woodwind instruments. You can greatly customize metronome tempo, meter in a „song mode” so to speak so inserting blank measures for practicing consistency is a breeze. You can program tone generator (which also has samples of common instruments as well if you dont want to practic

Phenomenal except for one thing.
This app is so absolutely advanced. It’s ridiculous in its simplicity. The one thing it is missing is the one thing I’ve been searching for, and it’s an app that pairs with my Apple Watch and allows for a vibrating metronome. It would be nice to have that on my fretting wrist while I played guitar, or even on my wrist while playing the piano. I don’t always want to hear the click. The vibration would do just fine. Add that to this app and I promise you will own the market if you don’t already.

Best functionality on the market—but very buggy
For the price, this is possibly the best practice tool you can buy. It has a huge range of functions for all kinds of musicians. But my experience lately has been extremely buggy, which hampers my ability to use it. Here are some of the most common bugs: 1) crashing 2) sustained sound just randomly stops. Sometimes it will stop because I switch between function tabs (like going from “Sound” to “Metro.” Sometimes it will stop when I have Slide Over view on my iPad and I slide it over to see my music. Sometimes it will stop on its own with no discernible cause. 3) Tuner just stops giving feedba

Keeps crashing
I'm trying to make a preset on the metronome, but it keeps crashing and deleting all of my progress regardless of how many times I save. I made it to measure 149 of the score the first time, but now it won’t let me make it past measure 30 before crashing. I checked, and my app is up to date. I’ve never had any issues with TE before, not sure why this is different.

Terrific Tool
Been using this app for several years and only use a tiny portion of it for voice pitch and instrumental pitch. It has helped me in my singing. Been thinking of using the didactic tools. However sometimes it is a bit over my head. I highly recommend if you are musician, don’t waste time with other piano apps. This will suit every need!
