Vont is a free app that is available on the App Store. -------------------------------- LANGUAGE -------------------------------- Phonto supports only English (US), Chinese and Japanese, so when the priority of Chinese (or Japanese) in your setting was higher than English, Phonto would be launched as Chinese (or Japanese) mode. To solve this problem… 1. Open the Settings app. 2. Choose 'English' in 'General' > 'Language & Region' > 'iPhone Language'. 3. Developers, this is the best app available, possibly ever. PLEASE NEVER CHANGE IT Don’t change a thing, it’s so easy, accessible, and x10 better than any graphics app out there. I love this app
I don't have a lot of professional stuff to do with it but it's great for making placeholder covers for fanfic so I can have pretty ebooks (or for making a cover for my own fanfic!), or for spitting out a quickie meme for social media, or labeling my cat pics. I do wish the Plain Images that include Earth and Space could be used in other form-factors (like for ebooks), and/or layered atop another Plain Image. Plus I need some way to toss a couple bucks to the dev every now and then, to keep Phonto from becoming an abandoned app like my favorite ebook reader. (Alas, Marvin! •sob•)

A Godsend for my work, but…
I help review construction work, using this for punch walks is such a game changer- easy to annotate when there are issues, or just to label where the picture was taken. On the first page of my iPhone for a reason. That said, something changed in an update recently, and I’ve lost the ability to take a picture in the app, I now have to take the picture first, then find it in my Photos library. Can we find a way to add Camera back in as an option?

Paid for Ad-Free, Still Seeing Ads
I think my review title pretty much covers my issues here. But, it’s pretty darn annoying that I bought the ad-free in-app purchase, along with all of the others, and I’m still seeing advertisements at the top of the application. Not only did I buy these features. But! It even shows in the settings for Phonto that I’ve purchased the ad-free option and all of the rest of them with a little blue checkmark next to each of the add-ons available. I’ve used and enjoyed this application for many years and I want to give it nothing but five-stars and a praising review for what the app has given me.

I have been using Phonto for YEARS
I genuinely have been using Phonto for years, probably at least 10 years at this point. It is the simplest app to add text and other things to images. It just works. I love to make personalized covers for my music playlists and I use Phonto every time I want to add some text. Comes with a massive supply of fonts, and you can add even more fonts from online. Something’s wrong with it!
I’ve been using this app for the last couple years and I pay for the pro version. Every time I would try to do a new project or I’d try to save it as a PNG file it crashes. Just this evening I used it again and it’s constantly having issues. I will use the text and it would suddenly duplicate the text. Or I would go to save my work and it’s stuck in some type of text mode. At the very bottom instead of it saying, save your work or save this project instead it shows the word text, size, font, etc., and it won’t go out of that mode. I love this app!!! My suggestions
I love this app dangerously!! Phonto and Canva are truly my babies, but I have a few suggestions because, in some aspects, Phonto is a bit outdated. Add a color wheel/spectrum Add an account login—I love the fact that you can create countless designs without the quality being degraded however I cannot take designs that are on my phone and edit them on my iPad so that’s a little peeve for me.

I have had this app for so. long. Through many different phones, phases, and projects! I’ve used it for things from college presentations to yard sale signs. I’ve even used it for t-shirt designs! Solid app for on the go design with type
I'm a career designer and I use Phonto daily to whip out graphics, especially for music cover designs and ads. With just a few additional features, this could be your daily working graphic tool. Most of all, Phonto is a type-centric application. To make it perfect, it desperately needs KERNING ability. Most of all, Phonto desperately needs the ability to adjust WORD-SPACING. Most fonts have very bad, “gappy” word-spacing metrics, and require fine adjustment.

I’ve been using this app for ten years. It’s really all you need. Lots of customization. More than you realize at first. You can upload custom fonts, even themed images (ie: flowers, animals, holiday imagery, cartoons, etc etc) you can use and recolor. They also have a little section of their own items you can add. The last update messed up this app!
I have used this app for close to 15 years. I have always been pleased with it. Until after the last update! Before the last update the user had the ability to only share photos they wanted to work on with the app. Since the last update, a photo cannot be worked on until the user shares their entire photo library with the app. Please correct this infringement on our privacy. The infringement is forcing us to share our entire photo library with the app in order to use it.

At least my ttf I made in calligraphr is supported just fine. In addition to that, it's very intuitive to use and while basic, actually does exactly what I want. If you are in doubt, I recommend you just try it out. It'll take you a couple of minutes to try out all the features.

Easy to use, but flawed
I’ve used this app for years because I’m most familiar with it. And I truly appreciate it. BUT why when I save is the quality so severely diminished? It’s set to save as jpeg, not high efficiency. Yet, everything is always blurry!? Oh, and not having undo reminds me of the early 1990s when I was little: computers were new and undo was unheard of. I would’ve thought 30 years later undo was a given. Lolol But again, thanks for a free app that allows you to upload your own fonts. That’s a plus!

Phonto is a VERY GREAT APP!
I love movies and I like making movie logos. I’ve been using this app since 2020, and I have to say I’ve learnt a lot of good tricks using it. I know it’s not an advanced app like Adobe Photoshop where you can add more special effects but for what it’s worth, you can add your own fonts and use them and great creative with making logos and other types of art projects! I recommend this app a lot.

I believe this is the first time EVER that I have purposefully come to a App Store to write a review. This app JUST WORKS
I've used this app for years and throughout all it's updates it's never once had a issue doing exactly what it claims to. It puts text on photos. It does as much or as little as you need for the situation, doesn't force subscriptions or watermarks on you, and the ads are single banner on the top, very unintrusive. So unintrusive I've never thought of buying the no ads version but I'm doing so just to support a developer who made an app that JUST WORKS AS INTENDED. 11/10, no notes, keep up the great work. I'm really surprised that there are so few reviews for this app. I've owned this app 12+ years and I still use it several times a week to mess around on and make cool picture quotes. Prior to all the latest updates, you were only able to use a 1:1 ratio which was just a boring square. Now you are able to choose from various ratio sizes and make the picture fit to your chosen size. There’s also a ton more fonts to choose from - and the best part that I LOVE about this app, is that you can add your own fonts to it!
