This program is so predictable. Play in hard mode. As others have mentioned …. WAY Too many doubles. Unrealistic. We paid money for this game. Why is it programmed to cheat so openly? What is the point of putting games out to cheat? Probably would sell a lot more if done fairly. If checking the previews it is clear this is an ongoing issue for YEARS. FIX IT! I have played from several hours at a time. Dice not random
Like others who have reviewed the game, I have experienced the computer player somehow getting precisely the roll needed to knock me off the board a large percentage of the time as well as winning almost every opening roll, but worst of all is that once the game comes down to a race, the computer will roll double after double. These are often large doubles (5s or 6s). I just watch it win 3 games in a row where the computer player rolled at least 3 and in one case 5 large doubles in a row to win games where I had a fairly substantial leads. I purchased this game and regret it. In my opinion, the hard level not statistically reputable. Reputable apps will often state “Powered by GNU Backgammon” or “Using the XG engine” in their info or settings menu. Suggestion: Read the ‘about’ section to help you decide on a purchase. I’m deleting this app and looking elsewhere.

Dice rolls rigged
A fun game is the dice rolls weren’t rigged for the computer. Always seems to get out of a losing position with big doubles or perfect rolls. The computer can can multiple checkers exposed…but I can’t roll the right numbers to put them on the bar…but one exposed checker for is going to be removed and then covered with the perfect rolls. I even stopped playing with the doubling cube because it means the computer rolled something big (which I can’t see until I accept the double) and it’s game over.

Broken in iOS 18
Unfortunately the behavior of the undo button has changed in iOS 18. For example if you roll a 6,1 and you want to use the “1” first, that is no longer possible. So basically it’s not backgammon anymore. Please fix this because I paid for this game and also because it’s one of the best ones available (or rather, it was)

I have the purchased app. The computer dice rolls are high number multiple double. My doubles are ones, no high numbers. The computer single rolls are high numbers, mine low number like 2/1. Clearing off the computer rolls two to three double. Me one or two several times. The game should be challenging and not cheat with dice rolls. This is unfair. I’m canceling my subscription and the app.

I wouldn’t pay two cents for this game. What backgammon board have you seen where pieces are on top of each other? You have to tap multiple times on a piece to select. No way to save a game to continue later. No stats. You set the the match option to be at 5 games, later you go back and change one option, like turn off sound, and even though 5 is still selected, it ends the match after one game. Need to go back to the drawing board. Looking for a different app.

A Couple Fixes Needed
This game has a nice interface and is easy to work. There are two things that need to be added/changed. First, and this one is minor, is there needs to be a conceded button. As it is, you have to go back to the menu or play out the game. Second, and this one cost it two stars, is the dice rolls. They are nowhere near random. Playing against the computer, the computer gets many more doubles and in numbers that best benefit it. How to deal with cheating
Great app; cheats horribly. Here’s how I deal with it: don’t just undo to change your move, undo your actual dice roll itself. This sometimes beats the cheat. If it doesn’t, I will undo until I can thwart the cheat… either by blocking its move, or by taking it out completely if I can! Sometimes involves multiple undos, but I feel vindicated for beating the cheat! Would be a five star game without the cheats, but I can only give it three stars. Buyer beware.
