I absolutely love this game. I started playing this game way back when it appeared in newspapers in a much simpler form. I’ve been totally hooked since then. I love that it’s pure logic and no guessing. I’ve been playing for over 20 years maybe 25 years. If a puzzle can be solved, I can absolutely solve it regardless of difficulty level.

Terrible UI
This game has two options for note mode: either every single time you click on an empty cell it defaults to note mode or every single time you click on an empty cell it leaves note mode. There is no option to just enter note mode with a click, make several notes, and then exit note mode with one click. That’s not possible here. The result is that playing this game is endlessly frustrating.

Great to play on this app as if you place wrong numbers the square becomes red! You can quickly change. Voluntary scoring should be introduced to count the number of red squares you got!(or the mistakes you made)

Really poor use of graphics
Compared to other sudoku apps I’ve used, I’m taking twice as long to complete a puzzle. This is primarily due to the apps poor use of graphics. Almost no use of color to differentiate states; notes are hard to see and notes I’ve entered disappear on their own(!); 3x3 grids within the 9x9 are difficult to distinguish; the tiny completion indicator is useless; and they have this new thing it’s called animation - you might consider taking advantage of that to indicate number completion and puzzle completion. On the good side, you don’t get bombarded with ads if you buy it.

Not as easy to use as I would have liked. :(
I really wish that when I clicked on the numbers selection of the screen: that the game would then allow me to enter the number into multiple spots on the game board that I would click on the spot to choose where I want to place that number. It would make entering all of the same number onto the board a lot easier. Which in turn would make my game playing time go down and the game easier to complete faster.

I figured paying for the app maybe I’d find one with a solution check implemented, but no. On the hardest difficulty you can and will get sudokus that require guessing to solve. Also it doesn’t highlight rows or columns for the filled cells when selected and selecting a filled cell turns off the pencil/notes. But there’s no ads and it has dark mode

Nice overall game, no subscription, my only complaint is it is hard to see when you have the big numbers on the right highlighted, especially the pencil. Half the time I think I’m going to pencil in something, only to have it solve/or fail a cell because it is in enter number to solve versus pencil in mode. The coloring on the right is just to hard to see. If that were fixed, I’d give it 5 starts.

Ugly and clunky but technically works
My other app switched to a subscription based model so I’m trying out new sudoku apps. This one is bad considering it’s paid. At least it’s cheap. The note-taking interface is clunky and confusing. Instead of just being on or off at the push of one button it’s sometimes on or sometimes off. If you press a square with notes already in it then the note feature is automatically on. It’s just ugly and clunky. It also doesn’t show if you placed a number wrong; matter of preference I guess but I’d rather know right away that I made an error. Too time consuming and confusing
Too many buttons to push to fill a cell with the right number and to use the pencil note. Just too confusing. The last Sudoku that I had but I was made to get rid of was MUCH easier and quicker to finish. This one takes too long for a game that is meant for speed.

I love sudoku and have tried many, many apps. This is by far the best interface of them all. No adds also makes it exceptional. I recently damaged my phone and had to get a new one. This was the first app I redownloaded because it really is that great. 11/10 recommend.

Easy or challenging
This app cost a few dollars but worth it. Sudoku with an easy to read board and I love it lets you know which numbers have been already used. No ads is a bonus. Different skill levels including easy, medium, difficult, hard, evil and diabolical. Nice game to keep our minds sharp.

Good - could be improved
This is a pretty good sudoku app. Appreciate the inventiveness of the developers in terms of some of the designs like double clicking on single candidate cells to enter the solution as well as visual enhancements like highlighting rows, columns of selected cells and remaining candidates if a solved cell is selected. Recommended improvements: 1. add a toggle for normal mode/notes mode such that normal mode stays on. If you recognize solutions for a series of cells that have multiple candidates, it’s clunky to have to hit the pencil button with each successive cell before entering a solution
