The synchronization with the watch is really bad
I bought a paid subscription in this app for creating a running training schedule. I know this app is great from back when there was a separate my ASICS app. And now I can't figure out whether it's me having trouble syncing the app or the watch, or if the synchronization itself is just very clunky. First of all, there's no convenient feature like in competitor apps where I could start the workout I need right on the watch without having to take my iPhone with me. Secondly, on the iPhone I select the workout I need, press start, and the watch doesn't sync this workout with the iPhone, so there'

Decent App
This app works well 95% of the time, but sometimes it changes your activity type. For example, I have never Kayaked in my life, but I have a run that I completed saved as Kayaking. This has happened multiple times; it has changed runs to skiing and golf a few times too. For the most part this isn’t a problem because you can go in and edit it back to a run. This isn’t however, the case every time because sometimes the edit page doesn’t give you an option to change activity type. It’s more frustrating than anything. There is also an issue where it will start giving you activity updates eve

Terrible app
Where to start? Always an issue updating. I usually have to turn my phone off and back on to update. It used to work then something happened. Using an Apple Watch Series 4 I never had issues then one after another showed up. First was the app captured my sound and would not give it back to the music player so I had to listen to very low sounding music for the first mile until the app announced the time again. Then when it started messing up right from the beginning where the activity started message didn’t announce u til I was .61 miles into my run. Then my music would return only until it did

Highly Motivational
I have been using Runkeeper for over a decade. I used it to train and run 8 half marathons and at one point I had all the badges that were available except the 26.2 badge. I decided I would do one full marathons, just to earn that badge, but then life happened and I didn’t get it done. In 2024, I had a heart attack and a quintuple bypass surgery. I thought I would never earn that badge, but it still bugged me. After being cleared to run, I worked back up to a half marathon distance, and then kept going. A little more than a year after heart surgery, I finished a full marathon and finally got t

Quite good but beware
Sometimes it seems the Runkeeper project has ground to a halt, and then they fix a couple of the many bugs. New releases are generally poorly tested - watch out - and the graphs and data tables seem to be developed by visual designers, rather than people who actually understand or want to review data. There are many bugs and frustrations, especially in the paid-for version. My advice is not to bother with it, stick to the free version and then when you get frustrated with the app at least you haven’t lost any money. Some examples of things that just don’t work properly; - poor, usually

No flaws? Almost lol
Only been using it for 3 days. I’ve worn Asics shoes for 40 years so I figured why not. Ran a 5k race today using my Polar watch and it transferred to Asics exactly as advertised. Plenty of stats and other feedback. Very happy I downloaded it. One small issue. I have settings so my week starts on Monday but the app insists my week starts on Sunday. Also, just a preference: don’t tell me my training run was my 10th fastest (example). I’m rarely trying for speed on a training run. Instead tell me I’ve made progress toward my endurance goal, or my mileage goal, etc. All running apps need to stop

Good for a free version
Update: The free version has added back the features I was missing (or I figured out where they were hidden in the re-design). I again enjoy the free version as good enough for my needs and am again using it regularly to track runs and biking. There are additional features that would be nice to have, but to me they are not worth the subscription. I’ve used Runkeeper (free version) for years. Despite occasional GPS anomalies, the free version had some nice features that made it worth keeping and using. The recent update changed that. Apparently not interested in having free loaders (like me)

Completely stripped down app
Read latest reviews! The rating score is misleading especially after the latest “update.” It’s basically now just a marketing plow for ASICS. I’ve used the app for well over 10 years/11,609 miles and watched it get glitchy and greedy since ASICS bought it. They do not make compelling updates or have features that justify the price. Rather than realize the paid version lacks appeal, they took the lazy route and stripped down the app and made features that were available for 12+ years and put them behind a paywall. A more savvy customer focused company would have thought—customers don’t see v

New Update is 2 Thumbs Down
Have used this app since 2018- and it’s come such a long way! it provides guided runs, helps you create goals, also tracks walking + hiking trips- it’s my go-to app for outdoor exercise. Unfortunately there was a recent update and I am not loving the main profile display any longer. i’m such a numbers person and love comparing weeks from one another, they have taken this away. sadness. the app also lacks being able to track indoor runs, for those frequent New England bad weather days. Exactly what I needed
Does exactly what I need it to. And more technically. I downloaded it so that I could track my distance, track my route and obviously my rhythm and pace as well. It’s cool because I can run for time or I can run for distance or I can just run and at the end, see how long it took me. I can do it any kind of way I want! Also for each run or walk or whatever activity as there’s multiple activities, you can post a picture at the end of it you can talk about how you felt. Some days if I have a bad run, I’ll put in the note section that my knee was feeling a little tense that day, so that for future

Terrible Apple Watch support
I would assume that since I have my Apple Watch paired and connected with the app that it would automatically pull that data from my watch to give more useful information inside the app. But you have to start a run on your watch if you want it to use that data. If you start it on your phone then it has no clue your watch exists. I would think that starting a run from my phone would do the same thing. I would also assume that starting a run on my watch would in turn, turn my phone into a real time display of the data from my watch. But I can’t. I currently have to start a run in the app on my

From 0 to 1,000 miles, over 4 successful races using app’s training plans
This app changed was the best tool I had in my running journey. From the beginner mile series with Coach Sean, to running a marathon in under 4 hours, the guided workouts and training plans have put me in tiptop shape and helped me build my habit of running which is a lifestyle by now. I think there is a lot of room for improvement, especially with the making the training plans a bit more customizable. A cool feature to include perhaps is a metronome setting for the training. Highly recommend this app for anyone, especially beginner runners like me that started from 0 and are looking for an ap

This app is excellent with one minor bug
I have been using the free version of this app for over five years and love it! I like it much better than the Workout app on my Apple Watch and any fitness app I’ve tried on my iPhone, especially with the feature in the app that automatically tracks when I’m doing something and when I’ve taken a break. I don’t have to stop and start activity on the app manually. The only part of this app I hate is its buggy support for Apple Watch. I've done the steps the app outlines many times, and still, sometimes the app works on the Apple Watch, and sometimes it doesn't. Even when I don't change a thing,

Like it, but....
I do like the run keeper app. It has a lot of functionality. The one thing that drives me crazy is that I run in a treadmill everyday. Although it will allow me to select treadmill as my activity. It is not holding that and defaults to other. It could be a user error, but I've tried it a few different ways to no avail. For enhanced functionality I would like to see it allow me to record that I am running in an incline. Keep in mind, I have not paid for the upgraded app which could include the incline functionality. I would also like to include/record the particular running program I used (ie:

New issues
I’ve been using RunKeeper for almost 8 years and this weekend, when I really needed it for three consecutive race days it failed miserably. Due to unstable wireless service it was difficult to get the app going, but once service was back the activity froze and would not go away. Even after closing the app and reopening numerous times the activity was stuck on the pause screen with no way of starting or stopping the activity. I have had to remove the app and reinstall in order for it to work again. Not only that but all of my saved custom workouts are gone after reinstalling. I’m surprise

Best Run Training App
I love this app. I’m 26 and haven’t run in WAY TOO LONG (like maybe 10 years?). I decided I’d like to start training to be able to run consistently and maybe even start running races. I tried pretty much every run training app and all of the ‘beginner’ trainings started out with several minutes of continuous running. When I started I wasn’t even able to run for a minute straight. Runkeeper was the only app that was easy to use, had a real beginner interval training plan, and has kept me accountable leading to results I didn’t even think were possible. I never would have thought I’d be able to

Fairly Nice at recording activity
I mostly walk and use this app to keep track of my mileage. It keeps stats by week (Sunday-Saturday), month, and year. It shows me each activity on a map, and can show how fast I was for each mile. And it tracks me using GPS and records the map of each activity. Way better than steps that I hear others track. What’s a step? That seems different for everyone and would even vary for me at different points in a walk. I like miles (or km, which it can do). Overall that’s my basic needs. There’s more analysis I can pay for a premium membership to get but at the moment, I’m not trying to impro

Great app for recording your workouts or any exercise you do
I have had this app for 7+ years and it helps me see the activities I put in every week. The best part is that you can add activities. So I can add anything from yoga, group workouts, hiking, biking, walking, and it’s so easy. Those weeks where you think you haven’t moved the way you should… Well, you look at this and you know that you have. Or then you look and realize you haven’t done enough ha ha. Anyways, it’s easy to go through and use it and I really like it. Every now and then I will do a challenge and it helps a lot to keep me moving. I have over 1300 activities recorded and that’s not

Overall Good, Could Benefit from Customizability
This app led me to my first successful marathon, so I can’t complain too much! The paid version provides a “custom” training plan based on your pace goals and race date, but there’s no adjusting the plan once it’s been dictated. You can’t adjust the days of your planned runs (though you can complete them earlier or later if needed, they just show up as if you’ve skipped them) or adjust your pacing/pace goals if you’re not meeting your metrics. You can’t add scheduled days off if you’ll be out of town or if you get sick. The plans seem to be identical each time (I just started a second marath

Almost smart enough!
This is a great app and I use it every day to track my workout. It knows how fast I’m going and it knows when I stop and then start again. But at the end of my workout when I get in my car to drive home if I have not manually stopped the tracking function, it just keeps going. I generally realize somewhere on the drive home that I have been rollerblading at 60 miles an hour when I am congratulated for my fastest skate ever! It sure would be nice if for each type of activity; running, walking, skating, cycling, etc., the app knew the maximum possible speed for that activity, and automaticall

Using the Free version
What you get with the free version, without the upgrade to pro, is definitely more than your fair share! So it starts with a 5-star rating. I have had one recent problem with the app using the just-as-is free-version: My last 5 or 6 activities were, “…Unable to update. Our server running Slow. Try again later..” How ironic? 😀 Trying later did not work either, so I have at least 12 miles worth of biking and walking that is not on my record or accounted to my Goal. There is a feature on this app that allows you to Create a Goal. For example: I created a goal to reach the distance of 90 mile

Among the best
The only app I’ve found that allows me to use my Watch and phone at the same time. Also, the only major one that has run/walk training plans. Unfortunately, the coach for the My First 5K Plan is no Nike Coach Bennett (all enthusiasm, no substance) and I assume neither are any of the others but there’s always a trade-off in life (since Nike’s app doesn’t have the run/walk programs or have the phone and watch synced during the run). A coupe features that would bump it up to five stars for me: 1. the running route had “heat” indicators that represented pace asking the route, 2. the ability to ski

Fantastic useful app with dreadful User Experience
I love the features especially the training programs and the tracking. I went through the 5K program for new runners and loved it, and ran my first 5K competition when it was over. But the design is awful. The interface is nonstandard, confusing, cryptic and clunky. One example: no accessible way to adjust runkeeper's voice volume as it mixes with music. Another: updating my weight requires a crazy series of taps and scrolling, again completely non-intuitive. Another: space characters display oddly when entering title of a run, disappearing until the next word begins. I will continue using thi

Superman, Latino Lover Superman!
That’s exactly what the Runkeeper app helps bring out in me. Of course, the app doesn’t instantly make you Superman, (it takes some serious life tests to determine that, insert your own on your own time ;-) ), but it sure helps keep track of my progress, or similarly my journey as Superman. It identifies peaks and troughs of when I’m fit and have record times, when I can increase distance 5k, 10k etc. it also identifies elevations which help me remember when I worked my thigh muscles and my gluts. It also shows when I have a lot of room for improvement! It also shows when my friends on the

Perfect Mix of Run Recap Details!!!
Perfect for my running! Easy to use, and shows running distances, elevation, weekly workouts, and tracking data in comparison of previous months and years. Adding a pic to your running workout is a great bonus, too! I run in rural areas and trails mostly, so it’s pretty cool to add a nice recap photo of trees, hills, deer, etc. The “feed” option is a quick way to “scroll” through your runs from most recent to previous ones. I’m a big fan of knowing and keeping track of my mileage per week, so this app works great for me. There are plenty of training options and races within the app. Switching

Great -Could Use A Couple Of Items
I love this app and use it all the time. However, there are a couple of items I want the coders to add into the app. Both features relate to the Custom Workout Feature. 1). When creating a Custom Workout, one only has three choices of pace; “Slow, Steady, Fast.” I would like more granularity with say, “Walk, Easy, Tempo, Race Pace.” The book, Jack Daniel’s Running Formulas” is a good template paces used a lot. 2) I would like to have a way of grouping a repeated cycle as subset. By this I mean, if you need to run for 20 mins Tempo, then 15 mins Easy, the you have a repeated set such as 3

Three Stars
The typical running/activity tracking app. I give it three starts for it has the basic functions that this type of app has. It tracks my activities, running, walking, biking, hiking, etc. It offers Challenges for you to keep yourself feel the sense of accomplishment. However, the activities are not special, because you will find them in almost any other apps just like it. I am not a hardcore runner or anything in particular for that matter, so it suits my basic needs. Now the two starts it doesn’t earn. The user interface is very boring. Group tracking is bad
Group tracking is bad. 1. It tracks only running not walking, so you have to save your walks as running to keep the stats counted in group. 2. The monthly statistics starts from the day the group is created instead of calendar month. If you start the group on 28th of the month it counts from 28th to 27th of next month. 3. It doesn’t show current month statistics all the time. Some how it is messed up with the group creation date. As in the above example during 1st to 27th of the month it shows last month statistics and 28th through end of the calendar month (30/31) it shows current month.

Love it!!!
I started in June of 2022 training for a Half Marathon (and following the plan of another app). This would be my fourth half and for the first time, I set a goal of doing it under 2 hours which I had never done before. Finished that training and ran the half…and finished in 2:09. Very disappointed, but committed to reaching that goal. Searched and found Runkeeper. Created my plan in the app and just ran the Half I was training for this past weekend. SUCCESS!!! Completed the half in 1:58:38! I’ve never felt stronger and more confident during a long run like that. Thanks Runkeeper! Now I’ll be u

Watch app only deletes activities!
This current version of the Runkeeper app is no longer usable if you are an Apple Watch Ultra user. I have recorded over 1600 workouts. Since the recent app update here is what I have learned: 1) Do not wear a long sleeve shirt or coat when attempting to record a workout. If you end the workout and the sleeve touches the watch, it will erase the workout before you have a chance to save the workout. About half the time it will actually erase and start a new workout. 2) Do not change the watch crown orientation. If you happen to bend your wrist during an activity, ie cycling, you will stop curre
