Good, but bad streaming audio
The app is fine, but the experience of streaming audio is awful. Too many clicks and once you’re listening, it’s awful having to restart after taking a phone call (if it’s longer than 60 seconds). You cannot just hit play. You have to kill the app, navigate back to audio, then hit play one or two times, listen to a whole new ad, then you’re back.

Bloomberg App Review
Bloomberg needs to do a better job with its app, especially with the live media streaming section. The live media section does not work 100% of the time, which is very frustrating when you paid to obtain current market information via its shows (Bloomberg Surveillance, etc.). The app also on occasion unexpectedly quits / freezes. Bloomberg LP should be able to do better.

iPad app broken
Bloomberg content is great, but the UI broke in late 2025 so that when you exit a story you end up back at the top of the main page and have to scroll down again to continue reading. The back button also sits on top of the iPad close or shrink window size button so sometimes when you want to go back you end up closing the app. It used to work fine.

They suffer severely from TDS
Great new site till it comes to Trump. Every day, I get a few alerts for things that are absolutely not news worthy but they’re sending it because of their severe TDS. Correcting trump on a statement etc. The amount of anti-Trump notifications I get from this app. Is probably more than they sent during the entire financial crisis, although they are a financial platform. Someone over there is gotta go for some TDS therapy.

Bloomberg's articles are consistently excellent. However, I am a paying subscriber, and still see ads inserted in between paragraphs of the articles. Even if the ads aren't too intrusive, I believe seeing ads at all with a paid subscription is unacceptable.

Good content bad app functionality
When tapping the arrow back button after reading an article the screen goes back to the top of the scrolling page so you lose you place. Also, the back arrow is so close to Apples new window controls (minimize, close, maximize) so you have to repeatedly try to get it right. Together this makes it really annoying to use and so I now go to Bloomberg after reading other news app first when it used to be my first stop.

Laggy TV stream and embarrassing AI dictation — and you just broke the minimized video player
I rely on Bloomberg TV during my workday, but the 1-minute lag in the TV stream makes this app useless when economic data releases or other events are happening in realtime. And the AI voice that reads news articles reminds me of automated market quotes from 20 years ago — it’s bad, like fingernails on a chalkboard. Perplexing because The Economist, WaPo, and every other news app I use that has an AI dictation feature seem very natural. Finally, the last update broke the video mini-player that’s supposed to shrink and overlay part of my screen when I need to look at something else in the

I just want to read the news while listening to music. This stupid app keeps stopping my music to autoplay…. Nothing! Stop grabbing my audio feed and doing nothing with it! If I want to watch a video or audio, let me click a button. Also, who is going to wait and watch a 30sec ad to watch a 15sec clip? Make your ads shorter if you want more impressions

Update has added a stream bug
There are some nice updates to the app but now the streaming portion has a bug. If you stream in your vehicle, shut the vehicle off, and then restart and try to start the stream again it will not start back up. You need to close and restart the app. Bit of a pain for sure.

Overall great quality app and news - unbiased, serious and to the point
Great app with a lot of details across so many topic. Worth the money paid for the subscription. The best news team for any topic. I liked to read the app, the news articles and listen to them on radio. Their news sticks to the serious middle of the ground view regardless of topic. The opinions are where you expectedly see some bias and even that can be on any side depending on the writer - still serious and not inflammatory. Their articles and opinions are not preachy - just matter of fact and thoughtful. Thank you to the great team and the app developers for their work.

Across Bloomberg networks, many shows tout the greatness of the new “Wall Streets” being created in Florida & Texas. None of the interviewers bring up the fact that females are chattel in Red States - healthcare is routinely withheld from females who are raped, pregnant, experiencing miscarriage or just need cervical cancer screening. Don’t Show Adds to Paying Customers
This app would get 4 stars if I wasn’t forced to watch adds every time I wanted to view videos and live TV. Customers are paying hundreds of dollars for a subscription, and you’re putting a 15-second advertisement in front of their 50-second video? Ridiculous. Even without the advertising, it gets 4 stars because Yahoo Finance has better charting.

I agreed to read an article for $1.99 which auto upgraded to monthly subscription without my knowledge and during this period I was still unable to access or content or figure it out through the online customer service. Finally called and they weren’t willing to even credit for the months I’d been paying without access to content.

Seriously Biased
It is a true shame that this once solid financial news source has become such a liberal rag, and can no longer separate news from opinion. The WSJ is the benchmark in media right now for a publication willing to question the political party it favors. Not one liberal media source did that as Biden's mental health was severely failing. Search is abysmal
The app’s search is incredibly bad. It’s pretty unpredictable what results you get. It’s impossible to find certain authors — try finding Matt Levine’s newsletter on the app. It’s also impossible to click on a byline to view all articles by a reporter. The website already supports both these features. I’m not sure why the app can’t do the same.

While there is a lot of good, free content on the app (markets/indices/forex, etc.). I downloaded the app and created an account to be able to READ articles. There's a promise of free limited articles monthly (exact number of the limit is not stated anywhere) if you register for a free account. Apparently, the limited free articles can only be accessed from a browser. When signed into the app, it constantly asks you to select a subscription to be able to read anything.

Bloomberg reports old news as if it’s new information. For example, they reported that egg prices reached a record high on April 10, 2025. However, when questioned the reporter admitted that it was news for March 2025. This goes down to honesty and transparency. What other news are they reporting today that happened weeks and months ago, but they are acting like it’s new information?

Your reporting is not objective when dealing with politics. You blindly support the Democratic Party. That’s not journalism. It’s simply propaganda and bias. Content is great, app performance is horrific
Bloomberg has some of the best reporting and financial news anywhere. Unfortunately this app is so slow (5+ seconds to pull up an article) that it doesn’t do the content justice. They need to fix the app performance issues because over the past 6 months it has essentially become unusable. On a fast internet connection this is simply unacceptable.

Regressing App
It’s been a few months since iOS killed old widgets and Bloomberg still hasn’t transitioned to the new widget framework. I used to rely on the widget to get a quick sense about the market and get 3 top headlines. On top of it there’s no way to customize notifications - you get bombarded with all kinds of useless headlines and have to sift thru dozens just to get something meaningful like inflation reading. I’m not renewing my subscription this year until the app is back to being useful again.

Latest Update Now Unusable
I’ve been using this app for years each morning to scan the headlines, read the first few lines of interesting articles & listen to a couple of articles while working out. I will admit that I’m not a subscriber and was fine with the limitations before the latest updates. A couple of weeks ago, the app became unusable for me for these reasons: 1 - It will no longer let me see the first few sentences of each article. Instead, it’s a subscription offer every time. 2 - The article audio never gets through an entire article without restating the app. Was this even tested? Very disappointing.

You can’t even look up “SPY”
Bloomberg used to be a respected name. No longer. Seriously the app is that bad. Even when you fork over hundreds of dollars for a subscription, its still unable to pull basic tickers up. Incredibly limited app with a paywall on free information you can find elsewhere. You can just tell the app is really just for people 65+ who don’t know about the new tech/appa out there.
