Description

Isle of Arrows is a Puzzle Tower Defense game in which you build a fortress in the sky. Place towers, expand the isle, and build your own paths. Can you find the perfect spot for each tile to beat the RNG and defend against waves of invaders? * Tile-Placement meets Tower Defense: Isle of Arrows is a unique blend of genres that adds a new strategic puzzle element to the Tower Defense formula. * Roguelike structure: Each run is randomly generated with different tiles, enemies, rewards and events. Playing through campaigns unlocks more elements to appear in the game. * Modes & modifiers: A variety of game modes, guilds, game modifiers, and challenges make each playthrough unique. Gameplay Each round, you get to place a tile on the isle for free. Spending coins allows you to skip to the next tile immediately. When you're ready, call the next enemy wave and watch your placed defenses in action. There are 50+ tiles in Isle of Arrows: Towers attack the invaders. Roads extend the path the enemies walk on. Flags grow the isle, giving you more space to build. Gardens reward you with coins. Taverns boost all adjacent archery towers. And so on. Great game idea but the mechanism needs work
It’s a very fun casual game and I have completed all campaign levels. But when I’m trying to complete all challenge levels, the mechanism made it impossible to do so. I don’t know if the developer has passed all of them yet but like others've said it’s too random. I think at the least of the overall number of towers should have a minimum, sometimes it seems like the game is straight out doesn’t want you to win.

Too buggy
Sometimes buttons don’t work. I’ve only used this app for like 20 min and, so far, the buttons not working has caused me to forfeit an in-progress game and I was unable to start a new one. For an app that I had to pay for, this is unacceptable. Now add to the fact that it was ~$6 and you can see my frustration. I hope this gets fixed, cuz the game itself is fun.

Great Game + Enjoyable Brain Workout
This game is fantastic. I don’t play mobile games, mostly because I game on desktop or console, but this one totally makes the cut. What I enjoy most is the strategy of the game. Great for long flights; time flies when you play. Worth the money. Requests to the developer: enable landscape mode for iPhone and iPad, and save progress between the two.

The game is a fun tower defense type game but you build the path based on random pieces each round. The start of each match is a lot of fun but as the game goes on if you did not get plenty of towers you quickly get overrun fast and it’s all random what you might get. after a while you will need to defend two or three different roads but all with their own start and end point and that’s when the game get a bit unfair. Inconsistent and random generation of play area. Definitely tuned for the player to lose. Each and every gam, the difficulty level would increase with no way to win (towers used to defend would not populate. I had a whole isle full of flags in one instance. The last game I played, I had 6-7 towers at an early stage and easily lost. Ridiculous game for the price.

Great TD game
Played tons of tower defense games but this one has a twist. You get to place the board down in whatever patterns you can piece together from randomly generated tiles/towers. It can be a tad frustrating as RNG will force you to lose sometimes however when you get some good pieces and put a plan together it's very satisfying. Game is challenging and worth the purchase price.

You broke my favorite card combo!
I have played Isle for several years and I absolutely love it. I probably play at least 3-4 hours a week. Highly recommend it. That said, y’all claim to have “fixed” an interaction where you can get infinite bridges/bombs/coins when some cards are randomly selected… it didn’t happen that often and I seriously want that interaction back. I’ve never seen the combo happen in a daily challenge, and that’s the only time I can see it being an issue. It’s nice to layout an entire map absolutely perfectly, and gives you an opportunity to sandbox and test stuff when it’s otherwise not possible. Please

Great Brain Work Out
I used to do the morning crossword and all the New York Times puzzles to exercise my brain. But once I started playing Isle of Arrows I thankfully could replace my former morning habit with something that was a little more fun but equally useful for using my logic in puzzle solving. This is not an easy game on the harder levels and the more you play the better you are at. It’s highly recommended.

At first this game is lots of fun. But this wasn’t checked well for playability. Leave the first few levels and it is almost impossible to win. RNG will give you impossible to win games over and over again. I love games that are challenging but not games that are poorly thought out where it is more to chance than skill.

I really want to love this game, but unfortunately it is more of a game of chance than a game of strategy (which is the appeal of most tower defense games). After about 8 tries I can’t get past the first campaign level. Very frustrating to be stuck at the beginning when I just want to enjoy what appears to be a well designed game.

Like someone else on here mentioned…it’s built like a pay to advance game so it’s addicting at first but once you realize you have to grind and gamble the game loses its initial magic. With limited customization options, like difficulty, it really narrows the potential user base and replayability. You can ROTATE tiles!!!
Am I the only one who didn’t realize this? The game was too difficult because the path tiles never matched up to my existing path, and extra frustrating because the tiles are displayed in a different orientation than they are placed. Turns out, you can TAP the tile to rotate it! This would’ve been great to tell me two years ago when I actually had free time, before having a baby. The game is very fun now that I know this, but alas I have no time to play anymore.

I like the art direction of the game, the randomness of cards and strategy in every turn. Is a cool game to play while you listen a podcast, or just killing time. I don’t like there’s no support for iCloud saving game, so if you have an iPad and iPhone, there’s not cross saving your progress.

Great TD game with hours of gameplay
If you enjoy playing games while listening to an audiobook this is a good one to play. There is a lot of content and strategies to work from. Every game round is different and difficult. Especially the beginning 20 waves as you don’t have the towers (or path length (which is something you also place)) set up yet. But if you reach wave 20 and die, you start with an extra tower the next round and it tends to get easier the next time. Great Tower Defense game
Probably the best tower defense game in the Apple Store. I’ve been playing these type of games for years. My only complaint: I’ve finally reached 100% on both the Gauntlet and Campaign and the Daily Challenge doesn’t scratch the itch for more! Definitely worth the money
Definitely plenty of replayability here, and a fun combination of a sort of deck solitaire - tower defense hybrid. However it is a bit too random for my tastes - even if you do everything you can to mitigate and manipulate your chances sometimes the cards just don’t turn up your way - which is difficult to accept in tower defense where generally planning and exact calculation is the order of the day. So the tactical element where you do what you can and alter your strategies in real time is appreciated - but there is not enough balance in the way the cards come out so prepare to lose a lot.

Unique and challenging… but lacking.
The game is easy to learn, difficult to master. You can see the difficulty ramp up and when you lose, you know why you lost; rather than feeling like the game is cheating you. The gameplay is simple but unique and inspired. I love the game and have played it at least a few times every week since launch. However, the game is growing stale. There has been almost no actual content added to the game since I got it. The last overall update was last year and that was the only time any content has been added. A word for the developers: please, for the love of god, don’t let this game die!
