I’ve been reading through the bad reviews of a bunch of people on this game. And most of them either complain about bugs or adds every ten seconds. I’ve been playing this game for almost 4 years at this point (~365 days logged in) and I have yet to get an ad from just moving around menus or starting main chapter stages, the only time I ever get ads is when the game tells me like a button that says “ gain 15 energy from watching an ad” (devs you can ignore everything before this) main problem with the game is that main chapter levels become a crazy chore that I don’t think I will ever do, I’m o

From the immediate outset the game has a steep difficulty. LEVEL ONE. It's a phone game, one control, moving your thumb. Why they decided to make it such a hard game I don't know, but it takes away from the fun. The enemies get more difficult, but your weapons and skills do not scale at the same rate. I’ve been playing this game for at least three years and genuinely enjoy it. I’ve ranked highly on the charts multiple times and continue to play daily. The gameplay is engaging, and the weekly events are a great feature that help new players access supplies and quality gear. However, I’ve had a negative experience with the community, particularly on the Discord server. Survivor io is an incredibly fun and addictive game that keeps you coming back with its fast paced action and satisfying progression. The gameplay is easy to learn but still challenging which makes every run feel exciting and rewarding. There are a couple of complaints but those are just skill issues, I’m a multi year player and all of those “problems” are the reason I haven’t grown bored of the game. Couple of my own complaints tho. First off, (this might be a skill issue) but lasers in chapters are almost invisible and I die a lot even with reduced vfx. I do really enjoy this game, however, I have several issues. For one it takes forever to actually unlock gear and enough gear to where you can upgrade your equipment. Secondly it’s very pay to win, in a sense of they always have these expensive “deals” going on and that’s really the only time you get good rewards for playing the game. I’d rather watch an ad or two for some good gear rather than paying 20-30$ every time there’s a promotion going on. The absolute worst part to me about this game is the menu music that is on about a 5 second loop that makes me go crazy. This music makes me mute it outright every time I get into the menu. How could nobody on the team realize that this is infuriating to listen to? Rant aside, the game is good for what it is. HEAVILY monetized, but I guess what free game isn’t these days. The One "Free-to-Play" Game I Play
Survivor!.io is my guilty pleasure. I have been playing since launch. I took about a year-long break, before returning, and have been playing for the last year. I don't normally play "free-to-play" games — especially mobile games — and I find the monetization of such games predatory and frustrating. However, this is my one exception. The game starts easy, but then the bosses just start trickling in and they box you in with these spiked walls. There is no need to trap the player with the boss while the boss has orbs that bounce off of these spiked walls. It leads the game to be virtually impossible to beat.
