Railmap for Open Railway Map

out of all the other railroad apps I’ve used this one is the best! it shows the current and abandoned lines, which is so helpful with my interest in finding old rail beds and sights. has so many rail lines listed, so great!!

This app helped find a defunct railroad that I didn’t even existed. So thanks a million folks.

Cool app but it’s a little glitchy. When zooming in sometimes the map/track won’t load so you have to zoom out then back in again to get it to hopefully “reset”. Wish that could get fixed

Tracks stop showing up after using the app for a few minutes. It’s just a glorified front end for openrailwaymap and the developer didn’t even bother to change the name of the app from Mapply.

I like it. I keep it on my main page on my iPhone. It’s missing a few lines here and there, has a few others that I was not aware of, even in PA. Recommended for train enthusiasts, rail trails users, outdoorsmen/hunters, historians, anyone who lives somewhere rural near old or abandoned lines.

It would be nice to also have a viewing option WITHOUT the overlay, so that more detail can be seen when zooming in for a close look. The overlay in such cases, blocks a lot of detail.

I want to see if trains could be coming or not. Signals would gladly help. And getting more info to see the speed on the lines

5 stars except one thing. As a railfan you could get more customers adding a feature where you can track trains.

I love this app, and I would be happy to pay for it. I would like to see one change, and that would be for it to download and maintain data on the phone or tablet. With a poor data connection, it’s often a long wait for abandoned grades to appear.

How about an option for a 1 time fee to drop ads, say $3.

A lot of times when I use it if zoom in within 0.5 miles the rail legends disappear and it’s really annoying

Whenever the app is opened, it says the app is reading the clipboard from your device (new security feature in iOS14). I don’t see any reason why a map app needs to do this secretly.

Really cool app but what do the different colors mean? Also is the dashed line supposed to show railroads that are now gone?

Trying to figure out train routes in Google maps by searching for station names was very time consuming. This app has done all of the hard work for you. Perfect for trainspotting or do planning that next Amtrak or European train vacation. Excellent app. Wish I could give it even more stars!

Hello app developer I love the app but could you continue to develop different areas with in the USA, Specifically in New England as there are many Active rail line in the states of Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont & Massachusetts that are missing from your map. Please get back to me when you can.

This is the best railway map available as an app or online. It is nice to see rail lines overlaid with ordinary maps or satellite photos. I like that the map shows track layout with all the sidings. Only annoyance is that you can’t search by location. The online version allows search by passenger station but that is pretty limited in the United States where large areas have no passenger trains. Of course you can slide the map around and zoom and there is a find my location zoom which is pretty useful. Coverage of abandoned lines is very good. My wish list (besides search): - An ability

Love the improvements but need an iPad version then it would be awesome

After this last update I have been exploring the planet using this app. Get this app you will not be disappointed.
