I’ve been playing Romance Club since 2019 and have followed the app’s development the entire time. I’ve been through a lot with it, and now I can clearly see it’s getting worse. The developers don’t listen to their players and can’t resolve ongoing issues with account transfers and lost progress. New stories come out with every update, but honestly, they’re just not that good anymore. I didn’t make a big deal out of the frequent loading errors during Diamond Rush — glitches happen. As someone who enjoys this game for being different from other interactive story games and more free to play friendly, it’s disappointing to see the lack of transparency with this new update especially about the premium passes. RC is not and was never the best interactive story game to begin with, but it had things no other game I’ve played has (good customer service, it’s affordable, well-written stories). It used to be the best app of it’s kind, but not anymore
I used to love this app, and have always been willing to pay money to support it by buying teacups often. However; after their most recent addition of a subscription service, I can no longer support this app. I’ve been a player since 2020 and have been slowly making my way towards their Hall of Fame, but the features involved in the new subscription are ridiculous. I have already paid for additional slots and the friends+ feature (and now feel foolish for having done so!), so there is no benefit to the subscription. HORRIBLE update! Why would we even pay for the premeium and gold update to buy all the clothes for example?? What IS this?? Love this app! Free choices during diamond rushes are great!
I love apps like this but hate that they typically cost so much to play by charging for choices to get the stories full experiences. I love that this app has “diamond rushes” frequently (it seems about once a week) when all choices are free for 72 hours. It makes it so people like me who financially can’t spend money on games still get the full experience if we’re patient without having to spend and I appreciate that so much!! I love the different types of stories you get plus how long and entertaining they are! And the graphics are amazing as well. I also love the idea of free diamond, tea or shopping days! However, there are just a couple things I wish were different that would make the app 10X better. Like for example, after you complete a story and would like to restart it you have to respend tea cups on the story. Which defeats the purpose I feel like of previously completing it. This app is a lot of fun. The stories are well thought out and unique. Getting diamonds is relatively easy, without paying for them. You can read the first “episode” of new stories to get them, and each time you finish a new episode in a story you’re reading, you get 10 additional diamonds. I love that you at least get diamonds for re-reading stories too. That makes some of the larger diamond options less stressful. They even include days where diamonds or teacups are free, and incentivize you to read different stories by making them free to play for a day or so. This is the only app I’ve used

I have been playing romance games and whatnot for some time now, just because I find it fun. But I have never seen a romance game like this one before. Romance Club easily beats Episode in my opinion, both of which are very similar. I love the art, the scripts, the music. Everything is so well done. I also appreciate the various ethnicities provided for main characters. As a person of color it greatly upsets me when romance games make people of color, either “ugly”, or just not there.
