Could be better
The selection for reading is good. I feel there’s far too many ads and there should be more events/ways to earn free reading time. Unlocking chapter by chapter is very frustrating for those who read fast, especially when one must watch two videos in between each chapter. Beyond that the app glitches when watching those two videos so I have to close the app, watch a video to read a chapter and then watch another video when I finish to meet the “watch 2 videos to read chapter for free” prompt, making it 3 videos I have to watch to earn that chapter. Very annoying.

I made a purchase for some coins that I thought was going to be a one time purchase. I later found out that I had accidentally purchased a weekly subscription. I have enjoyed this app and stories more than others I have been engaged with…..HOWEVER….i have 2 things that prevent it from being 5 stars. 1) I love that you can watch ads to unlock chapters, however, a lot of times on the second app it never finishes. This app is incredibly frustrating. A book on any other platform costs anywhere between $10-$20 at the most. This freaking app has “chapters” broken up into 3-5 pages and makes you have “coins” for each chapter. The book I’m trying to read has over 600 chapters. You can watch ads that take approximately 5 minutes to access a chapter that takes 3ish minutes to read. So essentially you’re just watching 5 mins of ads for 3 minutes of reading. The stories are promising but … 1. They don’t save the ads you have watched. If you have to do something and get back to tap to the next ad you lose everything. It’s horrible. I won’t pay the ridiculous prices on these and other audiobooks. Oh yes and you can watch ads and nothing is credited. Ads get hung up or go black and your loss. 2. . The sections are too short. I love all the different novels available. It’s really nice to be able to watch appropriate, reasonably length ads for more chapters/points. It’s not immediately obvious how the points convert to coins, which are needed to purchase the chapters. I started several months ago and got hooked on a book. I was able to read several chapters a day by watching ads. Then I was only allowed two chapters per day by watching ads. That was ok. About 5 days ago, after I’d read 415 out of 431 chapters, with only 16 chapters left, my ad reading was blocked. And the App put my bookmark back 4 chapters to chapters I’d already read. There is no earthly reason for me to watch ads in between the chapters and the ads are longer much longer than the chapters himself. Also, if the ads had you know maybe a little bit and they were fine with that they’ve started duplicating it one time I watched one ad three times before they will give me the second ad. I haven’t been using this particular app for too too long, but from what I can tell, it’s a really good one. You can earn free coins everyday, and you can also unlock chapters with ads, which I really like. You can do a lot to earn points and free coins to keep reading, but I had to search through 8 different screens to know how and when points converted into coins. Not as advertised but well written stories
The good news compared to other apps, the story lines are pretty good and written well with only the occasional error. You can read a story without paying for it however the bad news - the ‘chapters’ you unlock by watching ads or reading articles are not full chapters. The app displays small portions of a chapter, maybe 3-4 pages and they label that a chapter. Additional bad news, sometimes you have to watch 3 or more ads/articles (not 2) to get one ‘chapter’ to display because an article will fail to register as viewed. After two weeks I have not finished one story and I am on ‘chapter 100’.

I decided to try it for one book. The idea that you could watch ads instead of just paying coins was a real boon, compared to apps that require you to pay 20x the worth of a book to read. But don’t be fooled. You need to watch increasingly more and more and more ads to read each chapter. And these are very long ads with multiple stages that require you to click something to move to the next stage. And the chapters themselves get shorter and shorter and shorter. Ads to earn coins are so annoying.
So far it’s not been too bad. I like that I can read most of the books for free - meaning watching ads or reading articles to earn the “free” chapters. What I don’t like is that each chapter is usually roughly 1-3 short pages long and it takes me more time to watch the ads than it does to read the chapter. And when you have to watch 4 ads or read 3 articles after every single chapter it gets extremely annoying. Overall, not a bad book app. I like the selection of books so far. The current ones I am reading are hard to put down. However, I don’t feel the subscription is worth the pricing currently. I also feel like if we purchase coins to finish a book, it should equivocate the price of a book -like $20. This app is a rip off. If you are looking for a good reading app, there are better choices that are less expensive and better quality. I started reading one book that turns out, is 300 chapters. And since you are paying by chapter they just get more and more expensive the further along you get. I paid $5.99 for the weekly fee that gave me some gold and some points. You have to use gold to pay, per chapter. Which would be fine if there were like 50 or less chapters. I love this idea!! The length of the chapters v the amount of ads to unlock them is a little uneven but that’s everything nowadays. Chapters are a little bit on the short side and the ads are like 1-2 too many each chapter (it gets up to 4 ads and one chapter is like 2 ish pages… fixing one or the other might get more ppl to keep coming back).
