Excessive data usage
I’m on a limited cellular plan. The app loads tons of data and has by far the highest data usage among all apps on my iPhone, given the fact that I only open it Saturday and Sunday about 2 times a day. Even Instagram, that contains photos and reels, eats 2x less data while being used way more than this app.

This is largely a great app but my app for the past two weeks, every time I activate my ticket, the app completely closes/crashes. In addition, the live service map is a little slow and clunky. The map feature is nice but a basic text space that highlights what the current status is is missing on the app (and isn’t the easiest to find on web either).

Every single time I try to take the Ferry it’s always delayed. I double check to see the capacity of people allowed and mostly all the time it says more than 50 people allowed. But when the ferry comes they say “sorry only 5 people allowed” and I can’t get on. This is just never accurate and messes up my day and timing. Don’t recommend taking the ferry at all!

It’s been about 6 years since I started trying the ferry. Every year I decide to give it a shot again and every time it’s late. I catch another ferry when I get to Wall Street and NYC ferry is never dependable. Right now it’s been waiting for 10 minutes for another ferry to move so it can approach Wall Street. Whoever is doing the scheduling and logistics of this ferry should be replaced. May be they should recruit someone from ny waterway, which is always on time.

I use this app often. Its functionality is crucial to me and fairly reliable. I seldom have any issue purchasing tickets or using them. That said, this is the most disorganized transit app on my phone. Most of the time, departures are accurate. However, I've been left stranded a handful of times by out-of-date information. To get to information, you press on your departure station, never your destination. This can lead to confusion -especially when routes and stops share the same name. Tickets don’t load
Recurring issue with tickets not loading when you need to activate them. I’ve missed boats after waiting in line for a long time because of it and nobody is willing to help and just suggest to buy tickets at the machine. What’s the use of the app if you have to use the machine to get on the boat? Totally useless app.

Conflicting schedule times
I have used the “where are you going feature” twice now and it tells me there’s a ferry showing up at X time so I go and expect the ferry at X time. Both times in the past month the actually time for the ferry is at least 15-20 mins AFTER that time. Not sure what it’s doing but it’s not accurate. As a result I had to sit outside and wait 30 mins for a ferry when it was 96° out and could and WOULD have taken the subway if the app didn’t tell me the ferry was 7 mins away. ONLY use the time tables!!!

Tickets Deleted
More than once have I clicked “Use Tickets” and the ticket begins to load. It freezes at load screen and any attempt to restart, including pressing X or closing the app results in the tickets being used but not available for scan, effectively taking away my tickets and my money. I scan my family and myself in which results in multiple tickets lost from a flaw like this. With increased fare prices this type of mistake where i lose my tickets just to be required to purchase more is unacceptable and intolerable.
