Who keeps thinking it’s a good idea to change the swipe actions on the app but not in a unified way? Now, when you open a post from your feed that has multiple pictures, you can no longer swipe from left to right to go back to your feed and you can’t swipe down either. Those methods work just fine for a text or single image post. Secondly, when opening a post from midway down your screen, when you do go back it moves the last post you opened to the top of the screen. Every update introduces some ridiculous change that makes it worse. Curated stuff? Who cares. Moving bottom pins so they need to be scrolled and pressed to open…why? As the title states, when I swipe right to back out of a post I’m looking at on my iPad, the feed freezes until I refresh (by pressing the feed button) or restart the app. The Liquid Glass interface is fine, but please fix this.

Awful user experience
The app, which already appeared to be cobbled together with duck tape was recently updated for Liquid Glass. Now, on iPad, you can’t even scroll the home feed or tap a post to read it. How this most basic of functionality does not work is baffling to me, considering this is the core goal. This app is, by far, the worst experience I’ve ever had for a social network. They pushed away great app makers like Apollo, which actually made useable app and we’re now stuck with this. Reddit, if you cannot make the most basic functionality work, you shouldn’t have a space in the tech world. Sorry.

Unforced Error Changes
The UI and overall experience of actually navigating the app gets uglier and less convenient with every update they churn out. Opening a comment doesn’t take you to that individual comment thread the way it did, which was actually convenient, no. Now it takes you the thread with said comment at the top, which makes navigating that thread a nightmare, especially if you’re constantly going back and forth such as participating in a live thread. All the formatting shortcuts don’t work as your keyboard is in plain text, you have to manually format things like bold text, hyperlink text, italics.

Poorly Optimized and less intuitive than older reddit apps
I wish this app was as well optimized as the older reddit apps like Alien Blue, or Apollo. Ever since they forced the other creators to shut their apps down they have done little noticeable work to improve the user experience for what is now the only reddit app. Not to mention they make reddit on safari almost unusable without it. It must be just for ad revenue because the app just seems so poorly optimized and clunky. A lot of the times the links won’t even load properly in app and you end up having to open it in safari. I gave it 2 stars because I am at least able to use it, it’s just not ve

This app sucks—tracking, ads, bad media players, scrolling is buggy often. Stop using bots to up the rating, this app should have a 1-2 star rating and that’s reaching. Bring back the old API pricing and allow people to use 3rd party apps, greedy company.

This app is 9 or 10 years old and is still missing some basic features. - personal home page with the subs (communities) the user has in their list. - proper text edit when commenting - access to the community sidebar and rules Just to name a few.

This app is why I wouldn’t invest in Reddit’s IPO
They’ve actively been making it worse. They removed sorting options, they keep breaking the video player, it doesn’t have necessary functionality for moderators and on and on. I get it, they need to sell ads and drive engagement in order to make money. I don’t think any of the changes actually help with that, though. Ads and recommendations are poorly targeted at best, and users have little control over what they see. I mean, I keep getting crypto ads because I’m on a sub that makes fun of it. Recommended posts are even worse. Now there’s some nagware telling you to share a post instead of
