I’ve played the NYT games now for the better part of 3 years, and I do enjoy the games that they have on offer for non-subscribers. However, I’m becoming more disappointed in the experience. NYT seems to be locking more and more of its features behind the paywall. The daily crossword mini used to be available for non-subscribed users, now it’s locked behind the paywall. Stats on various games used to be available, now also locked behind their paywall. It’s not enough that they get ad-revenue from non-subscribed users. My guess would be they want user’s data so that they can turn around and sel
