Love It
This puts BGG's app to shame. I'd love to see a function for my game list that allowed me to filter my viewing by player count, weight, and time.

PRO TIP: Try swipe control set to 100% sensitivity for the nearest-to-gamepad experience. Turbos are activated with a tap of the opposite finger, so it keeps digits away from the top of the screen. for button control, change the default sensitivity to 75%-80%. This closely mimics the settings of pre-analogue console racer controls, and really should be the default.
Repulze, despite the unfortunate name, is amongst the finest apps in the Store. The graphics are buttery smooth and bursting with effects, the audio is spot-on, physics are perfectly tuned, and track designs play to the format's st

High Watermark
When it comes to creating a new chapter of a console classic for touchscreen, Joe Danger is nonpareil. Gone is the need to move any direction but forward, which frees up the player to concentrate on item collection, jumps, hazards, and tricks. Graphics are gorgeous (an absolute stunner on iPhone 5), the audio is perfect, and level design is on point.
Myriad challenges give everyone tons of replay value, while pro challenges and scoring will have hardcore gamers stunting for hours. IAPs are unnecessary, as coins are gained freely when the proper skills are applied. This is a must-buy for not on

Half a Game
For five bucks, this is a pretty game with little on offer. The pro/con breakdown:
+Looks great on 3Gs/iPhone 4
+Nice track design
+Quality audio
-No career; single race only
-Local multiplayer only
-Online scorekeeping requires signup with XL Games
-Wonky controls with no sense of turn physics
-No animation to indicate suspension preloading
-No customization
This is bare-bones design at full-featured pricing. You are paying for graphics. Not recommended.

Still the best.
With the recent release of the original "worm game" on iOS, SMW's vast improvements are only made more evident. If only we could get an analogue stick...
Beautiful pixel art, awesome character design, intuitive control, challenging nuanced gameplay, and pulsing chiptune music come together to make one of my favorite titles this year.
The game metes out skills, that when unlocked are available from the start in subsequent playthroughs. This system is genius, giving significant legs to the score-run formula. The variety of victims and their behaviors reinforce the playability.

It's no Super Mega Worm.
Hardcore gamers will pick the nuanced control, deeper gameplay, and more technical nature of SMW over DW's quick, casual, and loose destruction; but casual gamers have something to cheer about.
My main complaint stems from the overcrowded and undersized sprites in DW. Whether or not you go careening into a mine or bomb becomes a crapshoot (a pet-peeve for technical players) once the action heats up. This is at odds with some of the harder mission requirements.
Death Worm is still a blast, but it's gameplay style is polarizing. If you must own one, SMW is my clear choice, but owning both is

Soothing and taxing
It's the combination of Katamari Damacy (PS2) and Ozone (idevice) with electron microscope art design.
You are a beautifully-rendered cell that must absorb smaller cells in order to grow. The music is purposefully ambient to allow for an audio measurement of time speed. It's brilliant, really.
Lest you think Osmos isn't a game, it actually becomes quite challenging and rewarding. It's all about making tiny movements at macro speeds in order to thread the needle of the cellular traffic. It's a must buy for both mainstream casual gamers and those who enjoy something more artistic and gamepla

What the WHAT?!?
I don't know who these guys are or where they came from, but they just released the finest driving game on iPhone. Support development houses like this, as they push the device into previously unforseen territory.
The graphics and lighting are truly amazing. The frame rate never dips, and the draw distance let's you see the entire course at all times. Floaty but accurate physics coupled with retractible wings on the vehicle give you perfect control over jumps and flights. Add in great level design and Openfeint support, and the package is complete.
If you love racing and platforming, this
