There was a time, not that long ago, when access to local radio stations was limited by the distance involved, and was moderated only somewhat by a good antenna, and even that was with slight improvement. The internet changed all that. TuneIn provides direct access to broadcast radio from around the world. It has performed that task well. I can encounter radio stations in my travels around the world and stream those same stations on my phone when I return home. Of course this is accomplished by several other apps, but Tune In has been my favorite
