Surprise surprise. I opened up MarineTraffic to locate a friend who is sailing in the Caribbean only to find that it’s been completely rewritten and nearly incomprehensible. The original version was clear and easy to use. The new version is completely confusing. It’s hard to tell where water ends and land begins. And you can’t customize it, except for showing wind and waves. Moreover, it has lost all of the saved vessels and ports that were in the original version. What were they thinking? It’s all very disappointing.

This app only works in landscape with the power input on the right. I find this annoying. It is also unclear how to use the miles function and there is no help function. Nice first try, but needs more refinement.
