Update 3.16 for iOS has completely changed the way alarms are activated and dismissed via the app, which has removed functionality and made the alarm not only harder to use, but impossible to use in scenarios previously available. Currently, the app determines the alarm is going off if the wake-up light portion has turned on at any brightness or interval (previously, app only stated alarm as active when sound was being played).
