Weibo has been banning users without any further explanation in the past few weeks. According to their so-called notifications posted by weibo community, they have banned 414 accounts from Jan 21 to Feb 7. Some of the banned accounts can read new posts and replies but can’t post new tweets, retweet, reply or like a post. So others won’t notice those accounts are banned, they would think the accounts are only afk for a while.
