You really can’t do anything spicy without spending money. I was on the fence on my 3rd story, I just never had enough diamonds to do anything interesting. And I have no idea what the coins and cards are for, they don’t ever seem to convert to diamonds. Also, all the adds for the download look completely different from what you actually get, not necessarily bad, but…I might download it again another time, but if the diamonds I’ve acquired aren’t there, I’ll look elsewhere.
