I bought a set of the Kasa smart plugs to control some lighting and devices in my home. I got them added to Apple HomeKit and set up several automations very easily. It took some tinkering to make sure it all worked how I wanted, but everything worked great. However, I realized it may be a good idea to install the Kasa app to check for any firmware updates. WRONG! Bad idea. I set up an account (why do you require this to begin with?) and added all of them. They were already all up to date. However, suddenly my automations stopped working.
