I’ve been using Kasa lights and switches for years. The plus side is that they’ve always been very reliable. Before now, I had given it a five star rating. But a recent software update broke a feature I used every day. I’ve had it set to run a dawn simulator with a light in my bedroom: the light gradually fades on in the morning. As of a recent update, that stopped working. Fade on is no longer even a possible smart action in the app. What’s the point of having reliable hardware if you’re just going to disable useful features in software?
