Like most of my friends and family, I almost never go a day without playing the NYT games. I want to know how my Wordle results compare, whether it took 2 tries or 6. The crossword is my daily companion, the best accompaniment to a good cup of coffee I can imagine. I marvel at the humor, creativity, and cleverness of many of the puzzle constuctors and I pick up odd facts and sly references most every puzzle. Some days I only have a few minutes to spare. I rely on the Times as a trusted source of news. I know what care the Times journalists exert to get the story right. The app is a very convenient portal to all that, but it also brings other parts of the Times to my attention: smaller stories that delight and entertain me. Plus if I need more background on a story or I don’t understand a reference, the embedded links usually make following up very easy. Then there are the games. I’m addicted.
