This app is great for beginners. My husband and I both just got into birding (a serious leg injury has had me down from our usual backpacking and climbing activities, so we needed something new outside while I heal up) and this has been a great app for that! It has nice pictures (though could use more) and the songs are helpful. The descriptions give you some fun little facts as well. Expect to spend between $5 and $20 on in-app list purchases as you cannot add to your bird list without the bird being on a list you have. This to me was a very reasonable price.
