I am a family doctor and have always found it difficult to educate my patients about obesity. Patients in the past have asked..."Can you help me lose weight?" The answer was always a long discussion about a simple mathematic equation: "Calories In/Calories Out". I am sure I have chased away several weight-concerned patients with my "simple" equation.
