I am a newbie sailor and I tried sailX for a bit but did not like it. This one is perfect for me on ipad mini. It works well, has many compulsory tutorials that forces you to learn and each race takes a realistic amount of time. I noticed that I had the same problems here that I had in real sailing which allows me to improve my weak areas through playing the game. Some minor annoyances for which I docked a star. - often I wish there was a way toggle to another view - capsizing is a bit weak.
