I love using Donna as a tool to help write in different genre’s. A well written song can be put into different genre’s. It is really powerful in blues and standard non copyright straight ahead Americana. Old folk tunes, blues some jazz, talking songs, simple country. If you’ve got original lyrics you can do a lot with this. It’s your job to push yourself for an original tune. You’re not going to be the Beatles but you could get your song out there with a decent respectable melody. Just remember there are so many melodies that are just style and genre. We call them throw aways. And that’s ok. Y
