What’s New Version 2.5.3
- Fixed defect that was preventing export of data file.
- Fixed defect that showed a non-zero speed when stopped.
Description
The Best Bike Computer is a biking performance tracking application developed by a biker. It tracks various metrics from your bike ride and saves them for review in Best Bike or export in a CSV file. The exported file can be opened with Excel for detailed analysis.
In addition to saving your bike trip data in the application, Best Bike exports it to the Apple Health application (calories burned, cycling distance and workout).
The Best Bike user interface is simple and designed for ease of use during a ride but viewing the screen is not necessary; Best Bike will speak the metrics you choose at the time or distance interval you choose.
Best Bike can show you your current location on the map and optionally show you where you have been on your ride. Your route on the map can be exported in GPX format.
Note: Continued use of GPS running in the background can decrease battery life.

Build 867031735v2.5.32024-06-27 14:55:00
- Fixed defect that was preventing export of data file.
- Fixed defect that showed a non-zero speed when stopped.
Build 866255307v2.5.22024-06-10 19:31:06
New features:
- You can now add a note for each trip displayed in the Previous Trips screen. This data is exported with the other data in the CSV file.
- In the list of previous trips, max values for all trips are shown in Bold font. These correspond to the values shown in the All Trips header.
Build 865273841v2.5.02024-04-17 18:47:37
The displayed altitude values are now filtered using a digital filter algorithm. This reduces some of the spurious altitude fluctuations when riding on a level surface. Riders that frequently ride on level terrain will notice a reduction in the Altitude Gain and Calories values because some erroneous fluctuations are now being filtered out.
Build 857673281v2.4.72023-06-07 20:20:20
- Low battery warning has been improved. You are now warned via speech when battery level reaches 30%, 20%, and 10%. When battery level reaches 5%, the trip is saved and ended.
- Return ETA calculation now measures stops (pauses) in return trip and adds these to the return ETA.
- Average speed display suffix on current trip screen changed: "-" means your average is lower the average of all trips, "+" means your average is higher the average of all trips, "++" means your average is higher than the highest average of any trip.
Build 856243839v2.4.62023-04-10 21:02:22
- On the Current Trip screen, an arrow is now displayed next to Altitude to indicate sustained increase or decrease in altitude.
- Added to Previous Trips screen All Trips Header: Max Time and Max Altitude.
Build 852492745v2.4.42022-10-05 22:26:28
New feature: Return ETA calculation. This calculation estimates the time of arrival at your starting point for rides that are "out and back". Can be useful if you need to end your ride by a certain time. The app attempts to detect that you have reversed course and stops updating the Return ETA at that point. See the app web site for details on this feature. Return ETA is available for speech announcement (replaces Current Speed which is no longer available for announcement).
New feature: Maximum altitude. The app now tracks and displays the maximum altitude for a ride. This data is saved with other previous trips data and exported in the CSV file.
New feature: Maximum average speed. The app calculates the maximum average speed from all previous trips and displays it with other "All Trips" data. On the Current Trip screen, a + or - indicator is displayed with the Average Speed value. This indicates whether your current average speed is higher or lower that the maximum average speed from all previous trips. This can be useful for training rides where you are trying to best you previous average speed.
Additional detail has been added to the Help website for the app: https://sites.google.com/view/bestbikeapp
Build 851887264v2.4.12022-09-02 01:27:34
- Force "light" mode on devices with dark mode set.
- Maximum average speed for all trips now calculated and displayed for Previous Trips
- Route can now be exported in GPX format (should be done immediately after you end the ride).
- Future versions may not support versions of iOS prior to 12.0.
Build 849886179v2.3.82022-06-07 16:37:51
