Description
A pet is waiting to come home. In Okaeri (Japanese for "welcome home"), you slide whole rows and columns of food bowls across a cozy board until a line is made of one pet's food. That pet eats, walks straight across to the far side, and if its owner is waiting there, the two reunite and leave together. Bring every pet and owner back together to clear the stage.
YOU MOVE THE BOARD, NOT THE PETS
You never drag a pet directly. Instead you shift the bowls. Slide any row left or right, or any column up or down, and every bowl in that line moves together. The bowl pushed off one edge wraps around to the opposite end, so nothing is ever lost - the board loops like a ring. A slide of one step or many steps still counts as a single move.
THE TWO MOVES YOU MAKE
- Slide a line: pick a row or column and slide it; the off-edge bowl wraps to the other side. Line up a whole row or column so it is a single pet's food, and that pet sets off across the board.
- Rotate the outer ring: the pets and their owners wait around the edge of the board. Rotate that outer ring by one slot to move a waiting owner to the spot where a pet will arrive. Each slot is one move.
Use both together to guide each pet to the owner that is waiting for it.
THE SIX FRIENDS
- Dog and bone
- Cat and fish
- Bunny and carrot
- Bird and seed
- Hamster and nut
- Fox and berry
Each pet, its owner, and that animal's food all share one color, so you can read every pairing at a glance. Reunited friends are saved in a Pet Album.
HELPER ITEMS (NO LUCK, NO GACHA)
Five gentle items help when a board gets tricky. Each does exactly one fixed thing, nothing random.
- Free Paw: your next slide does not count as a move.
- Recall: free, unlimited undo, so you are never stuck.
- Lasso: swap two neighboring bowls.
- Stay Clamp: pin one bowl in place while the rest of its line slides around it.
- Treat Magnet: pull one bowl to the far end of its row or column; the bowls between slide over to fill the gap.
Your item counts are always shown on screen.
HOW A LEVEL GOES
- Slide lines and rotate the ring to set up a clean row or column of one pet's food.
- The pet walks straight across to the far edge.
- If its owner is waiting there, they reunite - okaeri - and walk off together.
- Reunite every pet with its owner to finish the stage.
- Your star rating rises the fewer moves you use; three stars means you met or beat par.
200 LEVELS, GENTLY TAUGHT
- 200 hand-tuned levels from a soft tutorial through Easy, Medium and Hard.
- The early levels teach one idea at a time; later boards ask for longer, cleverer plans.
- Every level is checked by a solver, so a solution always exists - no dead ends.
COZY BY DESIGN
- Warm, hand-painted pets and a calm, homey board.
- A seamless looping soundtrack with soft sound effects.
- 12 languages.
- Plays in portrait or landscape.
