Description
Chuhe Qiju: Rogue Xiangqi is a compact tactical roguelike built around a single idea: what if Chinese chess endgames became short, replayable puzzle runs?
Each battle drops you onto a small board with limited turns and a clear objective—clear every enemy piece. No full matches, no waiting for the opponent, no draws. You pick your squad from captured pieces, collect 24 unique gambits that change the rules of each run, and spend gold between battles to buy reinforcements, upgrades, and emergency kits.
The movement rules stay true to Xiangqi: cannons jump over interceptors, horses are blocked by the “horse leg,” elephants guard their side of the river, and soldiers gain power after crossing Chuhe. But the win condition is different: annihilation, not checkmate. That small twist turns every endgame into a puzzle of positioning, tempo, and resource management.
Highlights:
- Handcrafted micro-boards, 3–5 minutes each
- 5 themed acts with distinct boss fights
- 24 gambits that create wildly different runs
- Shop and event encounters between battles
- Offline, no ads, no stamina timer, no account required
- Full English and Chinese UI, text, and audio
This is not a traditional chess app. It is a single-player roguelike for players who love tactical boards, tight puzzles, and builds that break in interesting ways.
