Description
Spore P2P — Public conversation, peer-to-peer.
Spore is a new kind of social network. There are no servers storing your posts. No algorithm deciding what you see. No company reading your messages. Your words travel directly from your device to other people's devices — like passing a note in a room, not shouting into a corporate megaphone.
How it works
When you post a spore, it's signed with your cryptographic identity and pushed directly to nearby peers. They validate it, display it, and pass it along. The network IS the people usingit. If Spore the company disappeared tomorrow, the network would keep running.
What makes it different
• No content servers — your posts live on devices, not in a data center
• No algorithm — content spreads through geographic gossip, not engagement optimization
• No surveillance — the coordination server knows you exist, but never sees what you post or who you talk to
• Encrypted connections — every peer link uses QUIC with mutual authentication
• Immutable posts — no stealth edits, no disappeared tweets, own your words
Influence, not followers
Your reach grows organically. Every like you receive nudges your influence score up by 0.001. Higher influence means your spores travel further across the network. No vanity metrics — just a transparent number that reflects how much the network values what you say.
Geographic discovery
See what's happening nearby without following anyone. Spores propagate through geographic clusters — like walking into a bar and hearing conversations before you know anyone's name. As the network grows in your area, the feed naturally gets more local and relevant.
Built for privacy
• Identity is a cryptographic keypair — no email, no phone number, no sign-up form
• Push notifications contain zero content — they just wake the app
• Connections use NAT hole-punching to go direct; relay servers can't decrypt traffic
• Block anyone locally — they'll never know
Open protocol
Spore is an open protocol. Anyone can build a client, run a relay, or participate in the network. The full protocol specification is published at getspore.xyz/protocol. You're not joining a platform, you're becoming part of the infrastructure. Every peer that joins makes the network stronger, faster, and more resilient.
